 | RE: Photography copyright and ownership Ruggero:
Here is the problem, even if the photograph is on a website, you don't necessarily see the name of the photographer, or the owner of the image, so you don't know if the photographer is alive, or dead, or has an estate which monitors a copyright which may still be in effect. You can't know this because you can't see it. You also don't credit the website where you find the image in the comment block. When I put these items up, because the item is physically in my hands, I can see the blind stamp on the back of the photograph and secure whether the photographer is alive, or dead and then find out if there is a copyright still in effect and whether I am freely able to use the image. On some, I do credit the photographer as an extra precaution. I will tell you for a fact, many photographs you have used still have copyrights in effect. Also, an autograph changes the ability to show the photograph, because then it goes from a piece of art, to a collectible and the copyright rules do change with ownership on those items. | | | Harmonie Autographs and Music, Inc.
 | RE: Photography copyright and ownership Roggero:
The e-mail was not threatening, it was explaining to you how copyright works. Find a Grave is too busy to check every photograph for copyright. Almost every photograph you add to this site is cherrypicking Google images and in fact the vast majority of those photographs are from copyright web-sites and are not free to use on this site. The difference between yourself and myself is I only use photographs from my inventory, ones we physically own. You should be doing the same. If you can't supply photographs which legally belong to others, you should not be in such a rush to post. You put this site and yourself in potential legal danger when you do. | | | Harmonie Autographs and Music, Inc.
 | Photography copyright and ownership Dear Sir:
Bob Hufford asks me regularly to supply photographs to Find-A-Grave. I often find you have added photographs you find on Google images. Do you realize there is ownership involved with these images, either website copyrights, photographer's copyright, or owners copyright rights. All it takes is one and you can be sured in U.S. court and Find-A-Grave can be sued as well. So you really should only use photographs which are physically in your possession, that is all I use when posting such photographs. By the way, jury awards in copyright infringement cases can be quite large and the EU also has very stringent copyright laws.
I looked at the photographs you posted for Dorothy Warenskjold for instance, each was removed from a website via a Google image search on a copyright website. Probably a good idea to rethink how you do this, lest you and Find-A Grave receive a cease and desist letter, or worse a law suit.
Sincerely yours,
Bill Ecker President Harmonie Autographs and Music, Inc. New York NY | | | K

 | Albert Lance The Australian-French tenor Albert Lance was buried at the "Cimetiere de Bellecombe-en-Bauges", France, Rhone-Alpes, Departament de la Savoie, Bellecombe-en-Bauges (all the places appears in Find A Grave). I don't know if the cemetery appears, and if not I think that you may create the new cemetery, please research it. Best regards!Added by Errete on Jun 12, 2013 3:44 PM | | | Eman Bonnici
 | Cardinal Nagy. Dear Ruggero,
The Divine Sanctuary is already listed on Find A Grave with two names present as Sanctuary Of The Divine Mercy, Krakow, Malopolskie, Poland. Cardinal Nagy shall be laid to rest in the Sanctuary Crypt. Can you kindly see that the duplicate name added is removed and the photos transferred to the proper name? Thank you, dear friend.

Dear friends and loved ones,
Thank you all for your support over the last week; your messages have meant so much to me and have helped me through this difficult time.
We are all pained deeply in our own ways by the loss of my husband. But because Bob reveled so much in connecting cultures, I would like to invite you to join in a moment of song, silence, contemplation, prayer, or talkstory, as we bid one final farewell in unison.
Beginning at 9:30AM California time on Thursday, May 2, Bob's body will be cremated in Santa Cruz, CA.Added by K on Jun 03, 2013 8:24 PM | | | Louis Mata
