I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I enjoy photographing tombstones for FindAGrave. I have even been known to dig stones out of the ground. :)|
I feel it is important to document older stones so the information they contain is available for future generations. I do not consider my photographs "copyrighted". I post them for the sole purpose of helping other genealogists in their family research.
My goal is not to impress others by high numbers. I create many memorials just so they are documented, and try to add pertinent information to them. I'm more than willing to transfer these memorials to someone who can take better care of them, as long as they are not my relatives.
Surnames of interest to me: Solomon-Haberman (Jennings Co. IN & Saline Co. MO); Stoneking-Livingston-Long (Greene Co. PA & Tyler Co. WV); Wagaman-Turner (Missouri, Kansas, Washington); Pannekoek(Cook) (Kent Co. MI); LePard-Densmore (Kent, Ionia & Barry Co., MI); Kirby-Payne (Howard Co. MO).

That is absolutely Mary Ivers' stone! We are definitely cousins:
Jeremiah Long/second wife Jane Jones
Samuel Jones Long/Mary Bell Furbee
Christopher Long/Amelia Biggs
Ruth Rosebud Long/Joe Bentie
Let me poke around and talk to my mom this weekend. She just might know something....

Thank you so much for adding the photo to Mary's memorial! You are so very kind to do this. How is it that you are related to the Long family?

Thank you so very much for your quick response to this request, and for the great pictures. I appreciate the work you do to memorialize families in this way. Looks like it was a nice spring day to be there too! Thank you again. Janet Johanson
Thank you very much for finding specifically where Flora Sayles was buried. It was a sweet gesture to put flowers over her grave and then take the photo since there was no gravestone to mark her grave.
