I just noticed that you went to basic training with Rusty! Nice to put a personal connection with it!

RE: Rev. James Haney's birth place Memorial 98710280
Hi David,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
I've just taken a look at Ancestry and, although I find one tree that says he was born in Letter Kenny, Donegal, Ireland, the sources cited don't say that.

The Donegal part makes some sense. I have a copy of a naturalization document for John Freeborn, a brother of Hanna, James's wife #1, and Nancy Freeborn Patterson, my husband's ancestor. It says he was from Donegal.

Am I missing something? And are you related to James Haney ?

Susan Hopkins please feel free to use my e-mail address. Then I'll have a better record.

BTW, I live in Urbana, IL., however we make multiple trips to the Savannah Ohio area, 4 miles west of which my husband's family has a heritage farm. And the farm of Robert and Nancy Freeborn Patterson is around 2 corners. Going again soon.

Greetings !

Would you happen to recall the source for saying that James Haney was born in Letterkenny, County Donegal ?

RE: Lee S. Atkins
Oh wow had no idea, I'm glad that you did create a memorial for him- I created one and then thought to look after, but I think it's really nice that there is more than one memorial for him on here, I put the # of your memorial at the bottom of my bio. Also, I was looking at your virtual cemeteries, and I'm so sorry for all of your losses.

Thank you so much for your service to this country, and for the service you provide young men and women in the military. If you want, I can combine the memorials into one- put everything from the bio you created into mine, and of course credit you- otherwise Lee can always have two memorials, totally up to you. Gosh, I miss him so much. I'm so grateful that God put him in my path. We had an amazing 13 year friendship, he was my first love too- we dated in high school. I can't believe he's really gone.
Thanks again,

Lee S. Atkins
Dear David,
I was so thrilled to see another memorial for Lee already on here. It's been a long 41 days now, and I'm at the stage where I accept that eventually, I must accept that one of my best friends is gone from this world. I thank God for the 13 wonderful years I had with Lee, and I will do my best to honor his memory in my day to day life. Lee was a very accepting person, I don't think he really judged people, he loved people for who they are. He was always there for his friends, no matter where he was in the world. I hope I can be as good a friend to people as Lee was. I miss him so very greatly. I pray that he is at peace with our maker.
May God bless you.
