I am an avid genealogist. Paternal lines of interest include Murphy, McLane, Jordan, Ruane, Stark, Hausrath, Farber, Engel, Robertson, Henning. Maternal lines of interest include Protani, Mastracci, Incitti, Fiori, Rosenberger, Fleckenstein, Kostohryz, Bednar and Cunat.
I make a note when I am related to one of the people I add to the database, although sometimes I forget to do so. If you're a cousin, feel free to write me. I'm always happy to talk to kin.
I have also "adopted" a few cemeteries in Baltimore which I have been trying to document. Lately, I have been making an effort to do some simple research on the people beneath the graves I have been photographing. If you are related to one of them and see any mistakes, please write and correct me. I would also be happy to take down any memorial or transfer it so that you can make your own for your relative.
I am also a filmmaker who completed a feature-length documentary about Mount Auburn Cemetery. Here is the link:

 | RE: Petersburg The church records are on line at Ancestry, only problem is the various ways they are written up by different ministers leads to very odd indexing.
Your baptism, for example, the Minister may write Sean Paul (only) in the name column and write your dad's given and surname Murphy in the next column (father). Obvious what your surname is, why write it twice, eh? Mother's maiden names are a great find there too. Problem is your entry would be indexed as Given: Sean; Surname: Paul.
Makes searching a lot of fun, then the regular German to English stuff also is fun. When I do get a hit and pull down the image though, there are so many other finds on the page, almost everyone is linked in one way or another.

 | John Baier Hi Sean,
Saw your photo of the Evangelical Luthern Cemetery and wanted to find out how you know my GGrandfather John/Johann Baier is buried at the Evangelical Luthern Church in Baltimore, MD? I have been searching for years and have been unable to come up with anything.

 | Film on Mt Auburn Sean great piece-I am always in shock at the condition of Baltimore's(my home town) older Cemeteries. I have many Methodist ministers in my family buried in Mt Olivet and it's a disgrace what that cemetery looks like and being run/owned by the church is even more shamefull. Not to mention Old Saint Pauls Burial Ground (that was my almamater and I don't knmow why the student body can't be organised to do spring and fall clean-ups and repairs there-a way to work off detention-or maybe they don't have that anymore these days?)I had a dream for many years of trying to re-plant the cemetery and make it a community park like area a cemeteries use to be used(Loudon Park for example). But age, time and location(I live in Florida now) have pretty much removed that from the possible list? Might you be related to the Bandells or was it just a project?-StephenAdded by sanford on Jun 04, 2012 3:50 PM | | | Tom Owens
 | RE: Engel Sean thanks for the reply. It seems like you have a lot of info that I didn't have already but here is all I know. My grandpa William I never met. He died I think in 1949 and I was born 1951. He was married to a Mary Quinn. Dates I am still working on with my brother.
They had five children. According to the 1930 census William age 13.Betty aged 10 an marry to a Ed Griffin. Margaret aged 7 who marry Lou Hermann. My Mom Jane comes next at age 2 in 1930 and in 1937 came my Aunt Joan. There is a 1860 pennsyl census of a Louis Engle and not sure how he is related to me. My brother gave me that to figure out.
My Grandma Mary Engle like I said was a Quinn and her Mom was Mary Quinn Biglin and her Dad was a Timothy Biglin and Mom was Mary also.
I am also in the middle of my Dad's relatives( Owens) and that I went nuts on. My Great Great Great Grandpa was Moses French who came from Maine. My brother has alot of info also including some dates and where they are buried. This might not be much help with the info I gave you. I live out in Desoto, Mo now to be closer to my daughter but my brother goes up at the area of Dunmore once a month. Tom | | | | [View all messages...] |
