I've made plenty of mistakes starting out.
Still making corrections. If you find something that needs attention, let me know.

1)read the FAQs

2)It is not necessary to manage a memorial. Owners will update it if you ask.

3)It is your responsibility to suggest a correction/addition (submit a SAC) the proper way. Read the guidelines. Requests not made in this manner or left on this page will be DELETED.

4)You may add pictures yourself to any memorial by clicking on Add Photo.

5)You may use the photos I upload for personal reasons by citing me as the source.

Please follow the guidelines and we'll all have a wonderful experience.

BEANIE & JUNE who helped with the research and the thousands of hours we all have spent looking and developing this site not only for us but for others. Their input for the Auburn cemeteries has been transferred for me to maintain. Records will continue to be added. Any information, links, pictures, etc. are very welcome for all to share.

You were very helpful and kind to me with my research. Auburn Public Library. RETIRED 2012

Lois Elizabeth McCarthney-Lewis
Hi Glenda
Lois passed away this Feb. 23, 2015 burial will be at Washburn Cem. next to her husband Archie Lewis. She was a sister to Alton McCarthney so she will be listed in our tree twice. She has a daughter there Judy Ann Lee mem#39559060, and a grandson Gerald Edmund Lewis by Bobby Lewis Sr. & Wanda Gordon who is also buried there, I don't have his memorial number at hand. Linda

Weinar cemetery
Hi Glenda, Read the article in the Auburn Journal. Great job in getting recognition of our deceased veterans grave sites. ALL Veterans are most worthy of being honored for their service at the end of their lives.
Once again, my hat is off to you.

On behalf of all Vets, THANK YOU!

John Joseph McDonald
Hi Glenda, You have a John Joseph McDonald buried in the Auburn Cemetery in Auburn, Ca. who is attributed to the wrong McDonald. The John Joseph McDonald married to Ella J McDonald, and who had a grandson named Jack Angus McDonald is buried with his wife Ella in the East Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Sacramento, Ca. He was my great-uncle and I have visited his grave. Their marker simply reads McDonald J J and Ella. It is Lot 275 Sec 2.
He was born in Wisconsin in 1865 and died in Sacramento in 1929. Ella was born in 1865 in California and died in San Francisco in 1940. All of this information is well-documented.
McDonald is such a common name that I can see where it is easy to make a mistake. Thanks for all the time you put into the huge job that you do.

Best regards,

Sue McDonald Lundblade

RE: Grobe
Glenda, It most certainly does! When the GROB's Came to America from Germany in about 1840-50 something, the surname was spelled GROBE; they shortly dropped the 'E', although later on some started spelling the old way (Grobe).
Why do you ask?

wrong parents for Ray Brzezinski
Hi, I believe that you have the wrong parents connected for Ray. Wladyslaw (Walter) and his wife Stanislawa (Stella) Brzezinski did have a son named Raymond but was born in 1918 and died in 1974, Ray is buried in St Matthew's Cemetery in W Seneca, NY. William in Polish is usually Boleslaw or Boleslaus and Clara is Klara. Hope this helps.

RE: Old Auburn Cemetery
It's not a memorial appropriate story, more of an auburn historical tidbit. I'd rather not post it that way. Maybe I'll contact the Journal or a local historian

Old Auburn story
Hi Glenda,

From an Auburn Journal article, it sounds like you're interested in stories with tie ins to the Old Auburn Cemetery. I have a good one for you about two of the graves. If you are interested, let me know how to get it to you.
