Please visit "Hall of Honor," dedicated to those who gave military service to the USA in peacetime and in war, including veterans of the American Civil War (both sides.)

"Hall of Honor-Wisconsin" is a collection of Wisconsin veterans' memorials.

Please visit the memorial for:

CORP. JOHN McBRIDE, Memorial #147643639

McBride was an Irish immigrant Union Army soldier who survived the Civil War but was shot to death while working as a ranch hand in California. His grave was submerged by a reservoir for decades but was uncovered in 2015 due to drought.

Hi Julie!

They are in the same large family plot as daughter and son-in-law Jacqueline and Jack Vainisi, the McGinnis/Manning/Vainisi plot in Section B. I will post photos of their individual monuments later today. I added the profile number links to Jacqueline's profile, and I asked Daniel to add Mary's maiden name to her profile.

RE: West Edits
A suggestion:

Always include the memorial number for a record you are writing about so the other person does not have to hunt about. I add graves from Wisconsin and California, so I don't remember the one you are talking about.

No, I am no relative of the Wests.

The Rentmeesters at ANC
The stone for Richard and Geraldine Rentmeester is finally in place. I've posted photos of their stone on their memorials.

Thank you for your patience, and I'm sorry for your loss.

Hi Julie

I'm Eric Ihde user # 48704493
I'm hoping you would transfer some family memorials to me so I may manage them.

Anna Schultz 118580189

Thank you in advance. I appreciate the work you've done. Getting out to the cemeteries was on my list of to-do's for the summer and it looks like you beat me to it.

Send me the history you would like to be posted and I will send it to the right people in the admin section of the organization as they can update that info regardless who originally created the cemetery web page.

RE: Corp. John McBride Edits
Sorry for sending the wrong info. the first time around. There was no confusion on the death date. I picked the wrong date from the drop down menu and didn't realize until I saw your update. My source is from a newspaper article regarding Mr. McBride's death, published in a Sacramento paper two days after the event.
