RE: John Kent, Newbury
Dear Tracy,
John Kent 1641(1645)-1718 is an ancestor of mine, but I am not the one who gave him the title of Sgt.. I imagine that Jeffery James gave him that title perhaps from a book listing gravestone transcriptions that were done before the carving became too worn to read as it is now.

Since he died in 1718, the only war that he might have been in was King Philips War in the 1670s. He may well have received the title of Sargent because that is the rank he held in the local militia company.

I do not think he should be considered a "Veteran", but Jeffery James may know more.

Thanks for asking about John Kent and for working to identify veterans to be honored with flags on Veteran's Day.

On this memorial the photo is sideways. Would you mind if I fixed that by re-uploading it or would you rather do that? Thanks.

RE: Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park
Looks like map was accepted.
Could you let me know if there is a difference in viewing what I sent and what is posted? I'm guessing you can zoom in better?
Glad to have been a help.

RE: Andrew Robinson
You are correct. Do you know if all the burials are accounted for at this spot? As I have a death record for Andrew J Robinson that states he was laid to rest at Tewkswbury State Infirmary.

RE: Richard Treat
Thank you - those articles would be extremely helpful. Please send them to

I've made contact with the person who posted the information on the grave marker in Marblehead and she is going to do some checking at the high school.

Ancestry has led me to a family tree, but the creators have yet to respond - still trying to make contact.

I've also send an inquiry to the genealogy researchers at Mount Auburn, they have yet to respond.

Anything you can send along is much appreciated.

Richard Treat
I am looking for biographical info - specifically a photo of Richard Treat, whose grave you have discovered at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA

Mr. Treat was MIA, along with my uncle and four others, in a training accident aboard at B-26 lost in the Gulf of Mexico in December of 1942.

There is developing information about this tragedy, including the discovery of the missing aircraft. I am hoping to share that information with Sgt. Treat's surviving kin.

Hope you can help.

Wow. I missed the entire family, you obviously have some knowledge of them, going to let you create the memorials.

There are marker stones for:
Fire Chief Ernest
Joseph and Eleanor already have memorials - I'm happy to transfer them to you if you like.
