Bio Photo Dear Ancestor

Your tombstone stands among the rest,
neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished marble stone.
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist.
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you,
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse,
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled,
so many years ago,
Spreads out among the ones you left,
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew,
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

I am happy to honor transfer requests unless it is my family member.

I love walking the cemeteries and fulfilling photo requests. Please feel free to use any photo I've added in your personal family tree. I respectfully request, however, that photos not be posted to for-profit sites.

I'm also happy to provide additional research in the St. Joseph County, Michigan area.

RE: Lots of Henry's!
Hello Anne,
I took time off from searching records of the Henry family but have recently dug it out to get it more organized. My husband and I are planning a trip to Sturgis in August after we visit family in Detroit. I would like to go to the cemetery, the courthouse and possibly the library to look up obituaries.
I have been thinking about the info on Susan Henry and I am still confused with all the conflicting info. I have seen records for birth in NY and CT, birth year 1797 and 1803 and of course the 1869 and 1870 death years. I also want to dig into 2 sons of Archibald and Adelaide Haner Phillips. Stanley Phillips born in April 1911 and dying in August 1911. Another son, LeRoy was born June 1911 and died in 1934 from typhoid fever. These people had 16 children! (Archibald Phillips was Mary Jane "Jennie" Phillips Henry's brother). That extra info was just in case you are bored and want to dig into it too!
Anyway, I was wondering if you could help me with locations of the places I need to go to look. I thought I saw something about the courthouse being somewhere other than Sturgis.
Any info will be greatly appreciated. Gail (

Need help please
Hello, can you help me please. I received an email telling me that someone left me a message. When I go to the contributor page, your email from a while ago is the only one there. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you, Natalie

Del Sherman
Del was my nephew. When I posted his memorial there was no record for him in the cemetery. I have all of the family data. Would you please remove your record?
