I was born, and live in Northern, Utah.|
I served in the US Navy for 4 years as a Sonarman during the Vietnam War.
I worked civil service for the Air Force, retiring after 42 years.
I work part time for Napa Auto Parts.
I love to do Genealogy research, which has brought me to Find A Grave. I like to help out in my spare time, and give something back.
Besides "Ross", my extended family include the names of Ferry, McCracken, Cowger, Bovell, Stafford, Stokesberry, and Drenner on my father's side. Miller, Rees, Saunders, Vaughn, Hill, Merrel/Merrill, Phillips, and Williams on my mother's side to name a few.
For all requests for transfers, corrections, and additions please use the edit tab on the memorial.
Please feel free to use any photos for your genealogy.
Thank you, Richard
Note: The following was copied from SMSmith and should be practiced by all members of Find A Grave:
Putting more than one married name in the last name field (or sticking it in the maiden or middle name field) messes up searches and leads folks to create duplicates. I will only add one married name in the last name field and the other marriages and/or variant names will be noted in the bio area.
"My thanks to SMSmith"
Note: I do not recognize a memorial as being correct with more than one name in the last name field. That being said, if I have created a so-called duplicate because someone else has made an incorrect memorial I will refuse to delete mine!
I believe that there should be at least one memorial that is correct for the person.
Find A Grave Policy under "Submitting Information" the fifth item down is:
"What are your naming conventions". The topic of the last name states:
Last Name as you would find it on the tombstone, if the interred had more than one marriage or other possible spellings please place this information in the bio and use the family links. Do not include honorary or other suffixes in the Last Name field.
The difficulties of life are intended to make us better, not bitter!

Thank you for all that you do with family history.
I noticed that you added a death certificate to this individual. Unfortunately, the death certificate doesn't match with the individual you put it with.
Cemetery records show that this individual was born - Mar 7 1887 and died - August 15 1887.
The death certificate show that the person listed was married. This certificate belongs to a different Christina Poorte.

Loved that! Today was a reading day for me. All that thunder -- makes me nervous, but gives me a great excuse to just read and write! I will take your advice next time and make a very quick trip around the yard. Raindrops do smell good, don't they? Bless you Richard and all those for whom you care. Pat

I just meant the wet weather! Of course, I prefer rain to snow - easier for driving - but the skies are just gloomy! Yes, I had a wonderful weekend - we stayed indoors and I did the cooking to please me! grin :) Pat

By the way, did you and Don Calhoun ever go to lunch?
