|In 2009, I began documenting and photographing the graves at Mt. Elliott Cemetery, the oldest cemetery in Detroit. There are an estimated 75,000 to 100,000 people buried at Mt. Elliott and while my efforts will not document everyone, I am trying to do my part to memorialize those who are buried there. If you have a correction, addition, relationship link or biographical information to add to one of my memorials, please click on the edit tab and choose the Suggest a Correction option. I will do my best to make changes as soon as possible.|
If you are requesting a photograph of a grave at Mt. Elliott and the memorial does not have the plot information, please call Mt. Olivet Cemetery at (313) 365-5650 and get the information, then post that information with your request. The cemetery is simply too large to locate a grave without the plot information.
Please DO NOT post a duplicate gravestone photograph to the memorials that I have created or manage. There is no need for you to duplicate a picture of a stone I already have photographed.

I went to their database online and it did not give any more information about the location.

Wow, that was quick. Thanks for getting that photo of John Milett's gravestone! Do you mind if I copy and put it on my family tree on ancestry? I believe John is my great-grandfather, Austin Milett's brother and I was hoping to find who their father was, which seems to be not an easy task. I know they are related to the Thomas (policeman) Milet from Detroit but can't find what the connection is. I found one source that claimed their (John and Austin's) father was John, but also saw one that said John, Thomas's father was Austin's uncle. But it is doubtful that if they were brothers they both would have been named John.
