Bio Photo Hello and welcome to my page!

Thank you for stopping by :)
I am 5th generation American citizen, 3rd generation born in the US. My paternal family comes from Church Stanton, England and my maternal family comes from County Mayo, Ireland.

I started my research in 1988 when my father's sister gave me a bunch of photos of people I never met before. The one that really sparked my interest was this family portrait of my great grandparents and my two great Uncles (which I never saw before, nor did I ever hear of them before). On the back of this picture was their names and the date 10 Apr 1890. The writer (I believe my grandmother), stated that it was just days before they left England, 21 Apr 1890. That little piece of information opened the door to a whole new world for me! But of course this was before all these wonderful internet resources where at our fingertips. And at the time my oldest son was just a baby. So it was slow going at first. But no matter how much time it absorbs, I love this research! Each new day, each new page that is turned from my families' stories is so exciting for me! I have been researching both sides of my family and my husband's family. I have binders and boxes folders of information and pictures pictures and more pictures!

This year (2012) I gave my husband a gift of his heritage for our 25th wedding anniversary. He knew I was doing research, but had no idea I was doing his family. So that was a very exciting time for us! I was able to take him to places he never knew his family was. We walked on land that the great great grandfather he never knew he had, had farmed, worshipped and raised his family. I was able to introduce him to names he never new! And showed him faces he never saw! Watching it all unfold in his eyes was such a beautiful thing! It was the best time ever for both of us!

Well down to business...Although I have been a member of findagrave for close to a year, I have just recently started adding names here, so right now all my entries are family. However, I eventually would like to give some of it back and start adding others who are not related to me. Feel free to use any information or pictures I have posted already. All I ask is that you please give credit where credit is due. As it states here as a rule for it is illegal to post something that is not your own without expressed permission. What is not my own work, I have received permission to use. You doing the same would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for following the rules :)

And once I start adding other pages, I will gladly transfer management on request to those with a familial connection and neither I or my husband are connected to...

Thanks for reading my story :)
Happy hunting!
