Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a former Historian for both the Town of Geddes and the Village of Solvay in Onondaga County, NY. I love to photo-document cemeteries and I create memorials for people that don't already have one. I'm always happy to transfer memorials that I've created on to their rightful families. I will also consider transferring memorials that I have created for anyone in my family tree if you are closer in the line than I am...please don't be afraid to ask!!

Working on photographing:
Riverside Cemetery Oswego
*Photographed all stones in sections: P, Q, S, T, U, V, X, Y and half of section K. Also photographed all of the south single graves.

St. Mary's Cemetery Baldwinsville (completed 2014)
Kingdom Road Cemetery (completed 2014)
Bushnells Basin (completed 2014)
Meridian Cemetery

Also, entering burials from Myrtle Hill Cemetery records.

***I NEVER USE ANYTHING MORE THAN WATER AND A SOFT BRUSH TO CLEAR STONES OF DIRT, GRASS OR LEAVES. IF A STONE I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHED APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN BLEACHED, COLORED, SCRUBBED OR OTHERWISE INTERFERRED WITH IN ORDER TO BE READ, IT WAS THAT WAY WHEN I FOUND IT***

Feel free to use any pictures I post for your online genealogy! I just ask for a simple note letting me know you used it, so that I know that I've helped someone, especially if its a photo request I fulfilled for you. Thanks!

I invite you to visit the memorial of my hero, Uncle Mike. He was a kid at heart, the playful uncle that we all grew up with. He drowned while trying to rescue a child, DJ Kingsley, from Lake Ontario. There is a big hole in my family now.

I also invite you to visit my Friend, Shonda. We worked together and I've never met such a beautiful soul. She touched my life and I feel blessed to have known her, even if it was for such a short time. She loved her family, her son, everything purple, and just plain life itself. She was never without a beaming smile, and she could make even the darkest moments seem not quite so dark. She will be forever missed by the hundreds of friends she touched along the way.

Thank you for the heads up about the discrepancy between my obit and marker. I went back and found the obit and I had transcribed it incorrectly. She did die in 1945, not 1943. Thank you so much for the marker photos of Ida and her parents. Her mother's death and burial is a new addition to my family tree. Nice work.

I took the death date out of his record and asked for a photo, so either way we'll get it. You are probably right just want to be sure.

RE: Riverside
You're welcome. I have the whole St Paul's book recorded so if you need anything from the book, just let me know the names. It will save you a trip up there in this weather. I'm working on the Rural book now (if the weather co-operates where I can get back up there). The St Peter's book is difficult to find people in. I plan to get all the pages and put the names in alphabetical order. Then print it out for the library. It may take awhile...lol.

You have a great week and thanks again!

RE: Riverside
I got this note after the transfers came in. Yes, the records center is great. It may be a while before we can take pictures up there again. The lady from St. Peter's said it's been a madhouse up there with the snow and many burials. I also love going up there to research. There's supposed to be another records center at 46 E. Bridge St. I plan to check it out. If it's anything worthwhile, I'll let you know. Also if you didn't know, there are quite a few cemetery records, etc at the library in the back left. I just take pictures of the pages there (they told me I could :-))instead of paying the 65c per page at the center.

Have a great weekend!

Riverside
Hi Tammy,

Thanks for explaining the sections and for that facebook page. I don't have facebook but was looking at the site. I'm impressed!
I'm glad that you're doing lots of work in Oswego. A huge portion of my ancestors were from there. And yes, the county is very under documented.
You are SOOO brave to tackle section O! That section is my nightmare. It just goes on and on. The guy in the office (Fran?) told me that the lot numbers are all scattered in that section. He said you can find lot 23 in one O section and lot 24 totally in another O.
He also told me that there's over 20,000 people buried in Riverside! That place is huge. I do wish that they would mark the sections.
Thanks for the offer to look through your pics. I do have a few that I couldn't find.

William Bruce-died 1932- South Singles

Victor Bruce-died 2004-section T, lot 261

George Wills-died 1956-North Singles, lot 18, row B

William and Bertha Rossiter-section K, 2N

Thanks very much for everything that you do!!

Cathy
