I was born in Quincy, MA, in 1944, and have lived in Quincy, as well as in Newfane and Brattleboro, VT as a child, and Glastonbury and Vernon CT. My dad's first ancestors arrived in 1635 from Yorkshire and Dorset. On Mom's side, from 1685 from Warwickshire. I am retired, and had a career as a high school math teacher and later, as a software engineer. |
I have close relatives still in New Brunswick, Canada, and in Ohio, where my mother was raised. Dad was born in Canada but was naturalized and served in US Army in WWII.

Thank you for understanding. I don't recall ever meeting you. I didn't have much contact with my aunts until later and not a lot. I moved around a bit. We spent most of our holidays with my mother's parents (as a child). I heard about Sharon but I don't remember ever meeting her. My father, Henry Guy Towsley is brother of Cecile & Nellie Mae. He was 2 years younger than Cecile.

Thank you for contacting me. I keep in touch with my Aunt Jessie Fish so no need to send me her address. She is not listed on this site because she is still living. I will have to think about transferring Harold Beckwith. I don't want to lose the connection with my Aunt Cecile. I hope you will understand.

You know you can ask to have him transferred to you and you can add history if you want. They will gladly do this.

Thank you so very much for letting me use these wonderful photos, Carolyn. My line runs from John W. Horn; son of Stephen and Rebecca Wilkerson Horn. John left for Iowa and then Nebraska. I've been researching this line by expanding somewhat to find more information. Just found more info on Moses and Sarah Gary Longfellow Horn's son Gary. I have been trying to confirm the immigration from Germany to Delaware, but not easy. The information that I just received about Gary and his parents mentioned that they were German and English. Guessing Sarah Longfellow and her family were from England. So, it is fun. I take it that Moses was Stephen Horn's brother. Found the Kent, Delaware marriages online where it appears that the Horn brothers all married fairly close together. Never have been able to find the father to them, though. Thanks again, Carolyn, and Happy New Year 2015 to you and your family!

Hello Carolyn, I am related to Comfort Ellen Horn Simmers. She is my 2nd cousin and daughter to my 2nd gr grand uncle Stephen Horn. I am wondering if I might have permission to use these photos of Comfort and her family on my ancestry site. Thank you for creating this wonderful memorial to this Horn/Simmers family. - Sandra (Horn) Lytch

You are most welcome. If you would like for me to transfer her to you I would be most happy to do so. Please use the edit button on her memorial page to do this. If you don't know how to do that I have directions on my profile page. Thanks.
Thank you so much for establishing the memorial for my grandmother's first cousin Laura (Simmers) Shaw. I wanted you to know that I added a couple photos. Laura was a pretty lady.
BTW, Grandma and Laura were double first cousins, as 2 Simmers brothers married 2 Horn sisters.
