|Gray Eddolls||Southampton Common|
Good morning, Mr Blow
In the course of research for a book I'm currently writing, I came across two of your images of the grave of one Juan Manuel de Rosas in Southampton Old Cemetery on Southampton Common.
I have two problems and I wonder if you might be able to assist please.
Firstly, I'm unable to make out any of the inscriptions on any of the facets of the gravestone and I would be extremely keen to learn precisely what is written there (facet by facet).....
Secondly, having spent most of my life in Yorkshire, I now live in Lille and so, as much as it is possible to take a trip over the Channel and then make my way to Southampton, clearly I would prefer to avoid this if I can!
Any advice or assistance you might be able to offer me would be greatly appreciated.
