I am the grandson of Friedrich Kellner and the translator of his WWII diary, published by Cambridge University Press under the title, My Opposition: The Diary of Friedrich Kellner--A German against the Third Reich. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1977, and I taught English at the University of Massachusetts and Texas A&M University.
