Bio and Links
Bio Photo Taphophilia (a passion and enjoyment of cemeteries) has been my main hobby since the late 1970's when I was a junior in high school. I discovered that cemeteries in and around Los Angeles were the best places to hide from truant officers. It was in these adopted sanctuaries that I began to appreciate my surroundings: the grounds, the headstones, the architecture, the artwork and most importantly, the residents.

In October of 2010, I founded The Traveling Taphophiles, a group that sets out once a month to visit cemeteries. Our travels have taken us as far as New Orleans. I'm fortunate to have met others that share my hobby and to have forged some great friendships.

Once photos have been posted, feel free to use them as you wish - photo credit isn't necessary.

Happy Graving ~

Louis DuMort

McCart photo request
Hi Louis! Thank you VERY much for taking the time to go to the cemetery and taking a pic of my half brother's headstone. My mom is in a nursing home and I told her about it and she is thrilled. I can't wait to go see her and show her. Our sincerest thanks again!! And thanks for noticing I spelled Corkey wrong. I've corrected. You have made some people very happy. ;)

Jane Waddell Headstone
Hi, Louis!

Despite the absence of a headstone, thanks so much for the effort. But you actually accomplished much more than you may have realized:

That partial headstone to the left of that unmarked grave space looks to be Jane's daughter's, Alice (Hanks) Murray. Until now, I had no idea where Alice was buried.

Very much obliged, Louis! I thank you for your work!

Tabitha Boyd
Hi Louis, you recently answered a pic request I had made for Tabitha Boyd, there is no close up of what is on the stone itself, were you unable to get it? or did it not get posted yet?
