Hand County, South Dakota Genealogy & Family Search Center....with a sneak peek into the surrounding counties. |
I'm a collector and/or compiler of genealogy-type research material, (county and town books, alumni records, yearbooks etc.) and I transcribe and photograph cemeteries. My four sets of great-grandparents came to this area between 1883 & 1901, back in the "homestead days". We've "been here forever"!
Please use the "Edit"/"suggest correction..." button to contact me, and do be specific with FAG memorial #'s, names, cemetery name, and location.
If you have a research question, not related to a specific memorial, just email me, and I'll try to help you as much as possible....csr

It's a sickness.. lol...
You're most welcome.
|Diane Hurst||Bernard McCue edit|
Thank you for the McCue edits. Regarding Bernard's date of death...your edit is for July 20th, but Helen's obituary has it as July 17th and his burial date was July 20th. I can't find his obituary to confirm, but July 17th seems more likely to be correct. Thoughts?
|BJ||Fox Versus Fuchs|
They must have changed the spelling of their name to "Fox"....guessing maybe during the anti German activity during WWII?
Anyway, deleted mine and added the pictures to the Fuchs memorials..
You might want to let the person who created the memorials know about the different spellings...maybe she would like to change them...and connect the children...
Thanks for letting me know...

Thank you Carolyn for making a nice memorial page for Leta # 107871022....she is my 1st cousin 2x removed....I will connect her family from IL to her page, her dad is my great grandfather's brother.....per a note in the memorial, the second wife & Leta's dad never had any children nor did the 3rd wife....Leta's mom Katie had 5 boys & 2 girls, 2 boys & youngest child who was a girl died in infancy.....father, Ed McAtee had one large headstone erected for himself, Katie, his 2nd wife, & 3 infants in Greenwood Cemetery, Saybrook, Illinois....Ed's 2nd wife was Katie's maternal neice.....I met 2 of Ed's great grandaughers & they filled me in on quite a bit of history....& I have been in touch with a relative of Ed's 2nd wife & we have shared family history, Gail Hinton Seward #46961204

Carolyn; I added a photo of Charles to his page. I am not related, so I am not requesting ownership transfer. I am, however, trying to locate some of his family members as I have come into possession of several pictures with him, his second wife, Mazie, an Aunt Louise, (to name a few) and a couple of letters to Sterling Shephard (his son with Mazie, I believe) that reference Mazie, and would like to be able to send these to someone who would truly appreciate them. As you are the all-knowing eye, maybe you could help with this search. Thank you. :) Wendy

Thanks for your addition of Maiden Name: Cleveland it supports the 1860 and 1870 census that I had in her file. I just added them to her obit. I try to keep a file on all of the memorials I create. I start with an obit and see how far I can get. I like the research part of it. With health concerns in my family I may have to give up the memorials that I have created. The Youngs are not relatives of mine so if they are relatives of yours I would be glad to transfer.
As to the actual death date you ran in to the same problems that I did. The South Dakota State Historical Society has more of the Evening Huronite. The problem is you have to search each page. I donít think they have a search option and they are not online.

I must be blind as I can't see what you did. I don't doubt that there is something screwy, I just don't know what it is.
Have a wonderful 2015.
