If you will send me your email address, I will send you the article. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Alice ~ Mary Jane Sims Bates was also my great-
grandmother. Her daughter, Gertrude Bates Sparrow was my grandmother. Gertrude's oldest son, Weldon Sparrow was my father.
Do you know who Mary Jane's parents were? She mentioned a brother who enlisted when here father did in the Civil War, and I haven't been able to find anyone in the censuses who fit that profile.
My address is: Klassyblonde@sbcglobal.net.

Hello Alice, Yes, we are related! My maternal grandfather, William Henry Berry, Sr., was Beulah Jane Berry Satterwhite's brother. Grandpa was the youngest of the four children that Susan Day Berry and J.T. Berry had. She was my great aunt. I have a photo of my mom with her towards the end of her life. My mother and one of her brothers (her niece and nephew) are still living here in California. I also knew Ronnie Satterwhite when he was serving during the Vietnam War and was sad to hear that he and his brother had passed away (also their parents). Nice to meet you, Alice!
