I retired after many years teaching special education. I now spend time researching and photographing cemeteries in northeast Kansas. There are many small pioneer cemeteries near here, some of which are still working cemeteries. I also try to watch over and tend to the physical graves of our local Viet Nam losses.|
I gratefully receive transfers, but I am not a "collector" and rarely request them except for the closest of relatives. If you wish to transfer to me, you may, and I will care for them. If you choose to maintain memorials you have set up, that's fine, too.
I am now reconsidering transferring outside of guidelines as I have transferred a number of memorials that have not been maintained--updates are not done. I usually do corrections/additions within 24 hours, so if you have "tons" of additional information, please send it. Additions and corrections are celebrated! I truly appreciate those who use the new edit system to send them.

Thank you so much for adding my great aunt to Find A Grave. I have been looking for her records for several years. Bless you and the work you do for Find A Grave.
By all means, add the photo! And send on anything you'd like to his bio. More than happy to add it.

The Finn Cemetery is real and located at :
5 th Meridian
T 40 N
R 10 W
32667 County Road 213, Vienna, Maries County Mo
It is on the Ewers farm which at one time belonged to the Finn family and has seventeen people buried there. Altho their are no markers, that is where Barnett, his first wife Mary and his second wife Malinda are buried. According to the Ewers family you can look out the kitchen window and see the cemetery it is a plot 30 x 60 feet in an area that was an orchard at one time.

I HAVE INFORMATION THAT SARAH WAS THE DAUGHTER OF BARNETT FINN AND MALINDA ORTON OF MARIES COUNTY, MO.
JOHN AGE 21 AND ELLEN AGE 16 WERE LIVING IN JACKSON, MARIES COUNTY IN 1880, BEFORE THEY MOVED TO KANSAS CITY. CAN YOU HELP?

Thanks for posting the edits. I am still figuring out which contributors for this cemetery will post cemetery lot numbers. I am also certain that some of this information is not correct.
The cemetery records were kept in a somewhat 'casual' way into the mid-20th century but the cemetery staff is working to make them more accurate. The lot numbers are especially messy with some double tombstones with names credited to lots in different sections of the cemetery. I notice that your Elk relative is in a lot (Lot 1000) with people named Dragoo and Vernaz but have no clue if they are connected. In this part of the cemetery the lots were sold to families in blocks of 8 spaces but sometimes they broke up the lots for single burials. The records only account for 5 of the 8 spaces in this lot but the records are so messy that I am not trying organize the lots just yet.
