Bio and Links
Bio Photo Taphophilia (a passion and enjoyment of cemeteries) has been my main hobby since the late 1970's when I was a junior in high school. I discovered that cemeteries in and around Los Angeles were the best places to hide from truant officers. It was in these adopted sanctuaries that I began to appreciate my surroundings: the grounds, the headstones, the architecture, the artwork and most importantly, the residents.

In October of 2010, I founded The Traveling Taphophiles, a group that sets out once a month to visit cemeteries. Our travels have taken us as far as New Orleans. I'm fortunate to have met others that share my hobby and to have forged some great friendships along the way.

Once photos have been posted, feel free to use them as you wish - photo credit isn't necessary.

Happy Graving ~

Louis DuMort

I miss Chris with all my heart.

RE: Rose Hills in Whittier
Hi Louis,
Thank you for the info. Had wondered if Rose Hills had put a stop to it or something. You have fulfilled some of my prior requests (thanks again) and I had watched the numbers climb....hopefully you won't have too difficult of a time getting caught up.
And a big thank you to you and your friends for doing all these photos, it's great to have someone who is willing to spend their time for others.

Rose Hills in Whittier
Hi Louis,
Can you help with something? Do you happen to know why photo requests at Rose Hills Whittier are not being fulfilled?
As of today, there are over 2300 requests for photos and I had to withdraw a few just so they wouldn't be hanging out there.

Any information you have will be helpful.

Thank you,
rebeltem

Love your Bio
Oh, and wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your Bio!!! I also love cemeteries and have been roaming them, originally with my Granny Marlett since I can remember...and while it's a bit harder now as I'm getting up there in years, it's still my passion and brings so much pleasure. Thanks again for the Salmans photos at Rose Hills Memorial Park...I know I'll never make it to California, so having you and your traveling group out there, means a lot!!! Sharen
