My name is Chris Smithson. I am glad to contribute what photos I have taken over the years of tombstone pictures. Most of my pictures are from stones in Harford County, Maryland and surrounding counties. If anyone needs a picture of a stone please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
RE: Stansbury That sounds like an interesting pursuit. I encountered someone else a few years back who was looking for the old General's grave. There were implications during the Ella Wendel--Rosa Dew Stansbury inheritance trial that some of the Stansbury/Dew records were suspiciously destroyed/missing.
RE: Stansbury Oh, you're welcome; just a couple of stray facts that I have come across over the years. (I prefer to NOT be given credit on the memorials pages for some small contribution.) Are you related to the Stansburys? I was helping a friend with the Grice family and we just kind of drifted into the Stansburys which are a facinating family with some great stories.
You made a request for a photo of the headstone for the above. The cemetery won't give me the location but if you call them at 410-796-8024 and tell them you need the lot location for your relative/family member and let me know what it is I will go out and take a picture.
Sorry, I was imputing stuff too late last night. The only grave with the Smithson name there is John T Smithson and he is already on the website. I can put a picture on his page that shows the plot. There is a grave maker for a Kate (I couldn't read the last name) and a grave maker that is unreadable.
RE: PVT William Murphy Hi Chris, and good to know! Without your help we wouldn't have put the two together. Obviously common names like William Murphy makes it harder to figure out. The effort I'm helping with can be seen at: http://www.russpickett.com/history/mdwwii.htm and you can click on the county to see a list. I've been helping locate the 'unknown' burials, and getting photos of their markers--primarily in the greater Baltimore area. Thanks again, Dan Phelan Baltimore
PVT William Murphy Hello Christopher, and thanks for looking for PVT William Murphy's grave. I don't know how the cemetery was identified, but it turns out, that after I found his obit and his parent's obits, I found him in another cemetery in Harford County (I didn't ID the cemetery--I just entered the photo request). I found him at memorial number 75895474 at St. Johns Evangelist cemetery in Hydes, and it has a picture. Sorry it turned out to be a wild-goose chase, but we found him! I'll let the two managers about the duplicate entries. Thanks again, Dan Phelan
There are two Halbert Hoffmans at Loudon Park listed in FindAGrave: one who died in 1952 and one who died in 1894. Which one are you referring to? I found the burial location for the one who died in 1952 but not the other one.
