I enjoy locating "lost" cemeteries and doing complete surveys of them, as well as other local cemeteries. I add as many photos as I possibly can, usually during the winter season. I tend to get involved in the people buried in the cemeteries and try to use my genealogy skills of over 30 years to link those buried to their loved ones. This is done to make it easier for researchers to locate family members.|
Please send requests through the edit button. I am happy to transfer your family and friends to you, as long as they aren't mine too. I AM A CARETAKER WHO IS ONLY WAITING FOR A FAMILY MEMBER TO CLAIM THEIR LOVED ONE. I am not here to build numbers. These graves belong to those who loved them, even if they never met in life.
Sadly, I will no longer delete my entries after I locate a correct gravestone in a correct cemetery just because someone added a number of listings without regard to accuracy of placement. It is not fair that I spend my time, my gas, hunt down owners of the properties, bee stings, and even risk to my life (bull in the pasture and electrified fence) to photo gravestones only later to find that someone has placed a name in either an incorrect cemetery or has a burial unknown, finds I have actually found-the-grave, moves theirs to the correct cemetery and then expects me to delete my entry. I WILL TRANSFER my submissions after the incorrect entry is deleted. This way both get credit and the person who makes the incorrect entry still has a memorial they maintain. I feel this is more than fair. This is in accordance with FAG rules! I refer you to Find A Grave rules: "In regard to duplicates, a memorial with a correct known burial location will always be preferred over an unknown burial location". Thanks for listening to my venting!

I really do appreciate you letting me know about the cemetery name change Anne.
|Penny Harris||George W Ballard|
Thank you. Now if I can just find his sisters.
|Penny Harris||Lottie Leich|
Awesome! George W. Ballard was Charles & Lottie's only son. He died in Cincinnati in 1982. I don't know if they brought him back for burial or not. Not sure where their daughters, Hattie and Elizabeth are or who they married. If she's still living, Hattie is 100, and Elizabeth isn't far behind.

The one thing that I remember about Calfee was that if they did the funeral, then the grave plot in Calfee Cemetery was at $0 cost. May not be that way now. Anyway John Calvin Meadows' death certificate shows Sunset, and I think that we should proceed on that basis.

I forgot to make a couple updates for you. One was for Emily Williams. I do not remember the other request. I'll take care of Emily's update now.
Please send the other one to me again. I'll take care of it immediately. I've been working on a big project for my CREED family and everything else seemed to have gotten neglected. I apologize.

Thanks! I posted a copy of his death certificate. The Cemetery is listed as Sunset, but I noticed that H. T. Calfee was listed as undertaker. This made me wonder if he was buried at Calfee Cemetery, but I couldn't find anything there for him. I'll do a little more exploring on him.

Thanks for the updates! You're right, all I've got for her death location is the SS record so understand if you'd rather not use it.
All the best, Deb

Thanks for the info. I can't recall whom I was helping with the Syner family, but hopefully they'll check back on the memorials and find some useful stuff.

Did you ever run across John Calvin Meadows in Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley? I have a photo request in for him. His Memorial is #102486391. I'm not sure if anyone is buried with him, or not. He was married three times.
m1. Victoria A. Clark
m2. Lottie Crouch. John and Lottie separated after three years, with no children.
m3. Mandy Owens
