I will no longer transfer memorials to people who have not been a member of FAG for at least SIX months; there are too many people signing on wanting memorials and never bother to care for them. It took me almost a year to get my father's memorial transferred due to a peson not signing in and checking his memorials.
This does not apply to direct geneations.

I grew up with Decoration Day (2nd Sunday in May) going to all the cemeteries were the family members were and the last one would be Dad's grave in Oneonta, Alabama. Visiting the family plots and placing roses on all the graves. Mom would work on the flowers for days. Afterwards, we would go to "Little Joe's" restaurant and have dinner, they served "Family Style". For those in other areas of the country this is like sitting down at grandma's house with bowls of food set on the table and everyone shares. Some of my most wonderful memories are setting around talking to the family, where they lived, what was their name, and stories. I miss Decoration Day, but FAG helps to fill that place in my heart.

My love is Genealogy and that is why I do FAG.

FAG Guidelines for Transfers are: Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Please if you are related email me, and explain connections.

FAG Guidelines: Bulk surname requests should not be made and will not be honored.

I will NOT transfer all members of a family; requesting to send all aunts, uncles, cousin, etc.... I will transfer based on your relationship.

Virtual Cemeteries

A Find A Grave Virtual Cemetery is essentially a collection of names from the Find A Grave database. As a Find A Grave contributor, you can build Virtual Cemeteries to group listings in whatever way you would like. For example, you might make a 'Smith Family Virtual Cemetery' where you would place all of the members of your Smith family tree. Other examples: 'My Favorite Actors' or 'Memorials I Visit Often'. A VIRTUAL CEMETERY HAS NO RELATION TO A REAL CEMETERY! People listed in your VIRTUAL cemeteries can be buried in many different REAL cemeteries. You can add any name in the Find A Grave database to the Virtual Cemeteries you create and you can choose to make your Virtual Cemeteries visible to the visitors of your Find A Grave Contributor Profile page.

Are we related?
Hi. I've noticed that you maintain or leave flowers on many of the memorials of my direct relatives. My maiden name is Amy Eaton. I am the granddaughter of Jimmie Lee Eaton. I was wondering if you might be a distant relative or family friend I hadn't previously known? Also, I was wondering if you might be willing to transfer the memorial of Jimmie Lee Eaton (my grandfather) to me, please? You maintain the memorials of other close or direct family members, such as Robert Louis Eaton, Jr. and I noticed that you were not the original creator of those memorials, which leads me to inquire about possible family relations. I also want to express my deep gratitude for your care of the memorials of my family, and all others that you maintain.

I'm working on Greenview everyday and it is now at 92% photographed. I am in process of editing it and removing the duplicates and the people who are not buried in the cemetery. Find A Grave has been very prompt with their edits. I edit one letter at a time and might have caught the duplicate for Bobby but I'm glad you did. I will get that merged so I don't have to make another photo and will transfer his wife if you want.
I came out of a job last Nov. and decided that was it, I turned 65 in Dec. and officially June 1, retired.
Now, not enough hours in the day for what I want to do.
If you want me to find that cemetery again this winter, I've got a cousin (man) that has volunteered to help me with these growed up, abandoned cemeteries. We did Cypress Cotton Mill, wore work boots and long sleeves and he took a machete and cut away the growed up mess and I followed behind making the pictures. It is a shame that they have allowed this cemetery to grow up so bad and located in the City limits of Florence. Joy

Cleckler Family
Thank you so much for the info. I think I may have the wrong Dodd, but the right location. I was looking for a Permelia Jane Dodd whose parents were Wiley and Jane Thompson Dodd. Permelia (my great-great grandmother) married a Thomas M. Crocker. I'm quite a novice when it comes to geneaology since I just recently discovered my grandfather's siblings' and parents' names, so any help from you would be much appreciated as to where to look for the best records. Thanks again!

Cleckler Family
My name is Kristi and I've been doing some genealogical research on my family tree. It seems my great-great-great grandmother's mom was a Sabrina "Sabrey" Cleckler Dodd. It says her parents are Elijah John and Mary Hill Cleckler, yet I can't find her name in any of the documents I've looked through. I found out that John A. Hill married Elijah's sister Elizabeth and Elijah raised their kids when they died, but even their names are different. Is it possible for you to help me figure this out? I'd very much appreciate it! Thanks!

Myron & Nellie Ruth Bradley
Hi there,

Thank you for the obituaries. I added them to their memorials and gave you credit.

I wanted to ask you about three of the edit request you sent me, and see what you thought.

One was to add Otis as Myron Bradley's name, but the spelling in his obit was Ottis and his Father's middle name is also spelled Ottis.

The second one was to add that Nellie Ruth Bradley died in Reece City, Etowah County, Alabama. Reece City was where she lived, but at the bottom of her obit, the family gives special thanks to Dr. Todd Cross, Northside Healthcare and Gadsden Regional Medical Center seventh floor/south hall for all their special care.

Gadsden has two hospitals and Gadsden Regional Medical Center (also known as Gadsden Memorial Hospital, Gadsden Baptist Hospital) is one of the hospitals in Gadsden. Northside Healthcare is also in Gadsden. I believe that she died at one of these two places..... what do you think?

I had added her maiden name as Epps on her memorial when I typed in her obit. and in my edit request, there is a third request is to change her maiden name to unknown, but she is listed in her brother's obit (Jimmie D. Epps)and her Father's surname is Epps, so I was a little confused about it.

Until Later...... God Bless,
Judith
