|Researching Alabama and Georgia ancestors HARVEY, BELLEW, TOLBERT, WILEMON, BEAM/BEAMS, GLOVER, MIZE, PEDDY, MAYNOR, BEARDEN, SHIRLEY, BARKSDALE, STEELE, HILL, BUCKNER, CLEMENTS and related families. |
I appreciate and will be happy to add links, dates, bios and make corrections to any of the memorials I have created. I will gladly transfer
memorials (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.), to any related family members, as long as they are not relatives of mine. I respond promptly to each and every request, not like some FAG contributors, who MAY OR MAY NOT RESPOND AT ALL!
***IF I HAVE ALREADY POSTED A PICTURE ON A MEMORIAL WHICH I MANAGE, PLEASE TO NOT POST TWO OR THREE MORE SIMILIAR ONES. GOOD MEMORIAL PHOTOS ARE CLOSE-UP, CLEAR AND EASY TO READ AND TAKEN AT THE TIME OF DAY WHEN LIGHTING IS BEST. FOCUS ON THE MEMORIAL! IF YOU THINK YOUR PHOTO IS BETTER THAN MINE, THEN EMAIL IT TO ME AND I WILL DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT TO ADD IT!***
Techniques for getting GOOD photos of memorial stones/markers:
1) Go prepared! Carry a brush/small broom/weed clippers, etc. just in case some clean-up is needed before photographing a marker. (SOME PEOPLE ARE TOO LAZY TO EVEN REMOVE A FEW LEAVES!)
2) Take a pic of the entire stone with surrounding
area in case you need to go back and redo a photo. BY ALL MEANS TAKE A CLOSE-UP OF THE INDIVIDUAL'S MARKER! Look at the back of the monument as you may find additional information there.
3) On your camera, choose the proper resolution. Low settings allow for more photographs, but higher resolutions will give better photos, especially on those hard-to-read stones.
4) Avoid taking photos with the sun directly behind you. The shadow will be unattractive and you may recognize your own image in the photo.
Photos made when the sun is behind the monument tend to glare...not good for a monument photo!
THE VERY BEST TIME FOR PHOTOS IS ON AN OVERCAST DAY FOR THE VERY BEST COLOR AND NO SHADOWS OR REFLECTIONS.
5) *MOST IMPORTANT* Plan your camera position. For stones that are flat to the ground, photos NEED TO BE TAKEN FROM ABOVE. For stones that are positioned vertically, PUT YOUR CAMERA AT WAIST LEVEL OR KNEEL DOWN TO TAKE THE PHOTO.
PLEASE BEFORE YOU CREATE A NEW MEMORIAL, CHECK TO SEE IF ONE FOR THAT PERSON HAS ALREADY BEEN POSTED. IF ONE HAS ALREADY BEEN POSTED AND THEY ARE RELATED TO YOU, KINDLY REQUEST A TRANSFER...MOST FIND-A-GRAVERS ARE HAPPY TO TRANSFER RELATIVES TO THEIR RESPECTIVE FAMILY MEMBERS.
PLEASE USE PROPER CHANNELS TO: SUBMIT REQUESTS, SUGGESTIONS, ETC. THROUGH THE EDIT TAB IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER OF THE MEMORIAL TO AVOID ERRORS. CLICK ON THE TAB AND THE SELECT "Suggest a correction or provide additional information: AND TYPE IN YOUR REQUEST. If you request the addition of an obit, please include publication source and date.
*PLEASE DO NOT ADD OBITS IN THE FLOWERS AND NOTES SECTION!*

Thanks for the duplicate information on Velma Clements. I just emailed Find A Grave, requesting that the two memorials be merged so that the photos will be preserved.
Hope I got all you wanted transferred ok. Let me know if I missed any.

The obit was in today's (1/8/14) issue of the Marietta Daily Journal mdjonline.com. It was also on the funeral home website castellawfuneralhome.com. I usually edit the obits to change the services to past tense for those viewing it in the future. If you want to use the unedited version, please do.
Hi, I have linked Felix to his parents. Thank you for the information. Have a great day. Joan
