Bio and Links
Bio Photo I grew up in southwest Iowa on a farm in Cass County. I graduated from Griswold High School and Iowa State University. I also received a Commission in the US Air Force via the ROTC program. I served 26 years in the USAF and retired in Colorado Springs, CO where I still live. Many of my ancestors are buried in the cemeteries near Lyman and Atlantic Iowa. I am currently working on the Sunderman Family Tree—so if you have any information or pictures you would be willing to share just e-mail me. My Grandfather and Grandmother (William and Viola Sunderman) ran the Sunderman Oil Station for many years while I was young, so many of the current residents may relate to that. My main interest in Find a Grave is to document the memory of my family members. Many of them were Sundermans, Mullers, Sothmans, Martins, and Coopers.

RE: Sundermans
Bud-
I've been off findagrave for a long time, and just signed back on to see your message. I can't even open the whole thing, but I get the gist of it. As soon as I can figure out how to maneuver this site again, I will read your entire message and transfer the profiles to you.
I am descended from the Dolch family, and visited the cemetery to photograph their headstones. I also knew I had some Sundermans in the my family, so took photos and created pages for them as well.
Sorry it has taken me so long to reply.
Thanks,
Shawn

Thank you for all that you have shown me about my Uncle Charlie. As a child, some of the best time sin my life was spent with Uncle Charlie on his place outside of Atlantic , Iowa. When I have the fond memories they are always of my Aunt Burn, Charlie, my Grandpa Clanton, and my Aunt Jerry, and of course my believed father Dale Davis, adn my great-grandparents. Some of my best memoriesw as we age are of thoswe those people not with us today. Thank you so very much, I am so very graeful to you for all that you have shown me. God bless, take care , and keep safe and well.

Lidi sunderman
Lidia is clearly on the bottom of the stone as I can read Lidi clearly but assume the next indentation is an 'A'. It is possible it has the abbreviation for born in german which was goboren --gob. MAYBE? what looks like JAN???---the very last word in the next line under Lidia is age. Before :"Age" looks like a 7. It may be 1 Yr or 11 Yr- 3 or 5 mons. and 7 days. before the word age. Are you certain she was 5 years old or 1 year old? and that she died with Sophia and not after.
If true to form it probably has Yr-Mo.-Day then the word age.
If the stone is this old I figure it might have some German on it rather than Engish. I tried everything with color etc. and the best I could do at this point.
Likely no separate stone then for Lidia.

Lidia Sunderman
Bud,
I tried to enhance the stone pictures on my computer and Lidia's name is on the bottom of Sophia's stone. There is something with "Oer" after Lidia's name and next below is clearly a 5 (five), but there is more than that. I could try a chalk rubbing when I go to the cemetery. I could see the Sunderman on the top of Sophia's stone but little more.
