"Close to my heart you'll always be - Genealogy is the connection to you and me!"|
Your tombstone stands among the rest, neglected and alone. The name and date are chiseled out on polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care, it is too late to mourn. You did not know that I exist, you died, and I was born. Yet each of us are cells of you, in flesh, in blood, in bone. Our blood contracts and beat a pulse, entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled, one hundred years ago, spreads out among the ones you left, who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved, I wonder if you knew, that someday I would find this spot, and come to visit you. (Author Unknown)
BTW for those of you sending all the corrections regarding only one name in the first block of records for searching ease, even when the individual has 3 or 4 names, as in good Catholics who always have Marie or Joseph in their names (which is usually the first name) - be careful what you ask for - I'm working on the corrections, however if you search on Marie or Joseph now you get over 2,500 of my names alone. Good luck finding the individual you are looking for, especially if it's Marie and you don't know how many times she married. I find those of you insistent on this interesting - especially as Find A Grave refuses to fix my husband's relative who has no first name - his name is Spotted Tail and because he's famous his record is handled by management - they have Spotted for his first name and Tail for his last name. Not CORRECT, but what the heck, it fits in the box.

BINGO, BINGO, BINGO...I spoke to a nephew and a niece of Lionel tonight...Simonne to their knowledge never remarried and is/was out west somewhere...their daughter's name was Connie...I knew my mom was good friends with Simonne but I didn't realize where my name came from...guess now I know. I've gathered up all the pictures (12-15) and I'll be sending them off to the family...How exciting!!!..finally in the hand of the family where they belong.

Hi Suki...guess what....I think that in 2010 Simonne was still living...in her brother-in- law's obituary it say.."survived by a very special sister-in-law and her husband".
No names were given but Laurent only had one brother from what I can tell...so now I've got another lead...will keep you posted..are you still interested?!?!?
|Connie Lagasse Russell||RE: Lionel Martin Siblings|
Hi Suki....he had two siblings from what I've found...Annette Martel...I haven't checked to see if she was married or not...and then his brother Laurent Memorial# 62753438...you should take a second to read Laurent's bio...thanks again for the help
|Steven Lake||RE: Charles W. Green|
I am working on another candidate for Nora, but it is a long shot because I still haven't been able to prove they were ever in Polk county, Nebraska.
I have poked around a little from time to time as I have had ideas. I think I have nearly exhausted the normal sources I am in the habit of using. It is really time to get out of my comfort zone and pursue other record collections, such as land, probate, BMD's (birth, marriage and death records) and newspapers. In the mean time I am working on Polk county, Nebraska, where it is said that C.W. Green died and where his uncle Thomas lived and died. There are 42 Greens buried in that county and I am using the process of elimination to see if any of them are related to either C.W. or Charles W. or Thomas. Only Thomas' wife Christianna and son Eden so far. I have completed research on about half of them, the two biggest Green families are completely unrelated on American soil, other than coming from England.
There is one infant who died in 1882 and is the only Green in a small cemetery about three miles from where Thomas is buried. When I get everyone else sorted out and accounted for, if this infant hasn't been connected to another Green in the county, then there still has to be a bit of a miracle that would connect the infant to Charles and Nora. IF CW/Charles W and Nora were in Polk county it would have been for only a short time between the 1880 census that has them in Mt. Zion, Macon, Illinois and the 1885 census that has them in Nemaha county, Nebraska. I am closely scrutinizing the 1900 census that gives the number of children for every mother. There is still an outside chance that I could stumble upon something that could completely break the CW/Charles W deal.
The time consuming part of this research is putting my notes back on either FamilySearch or Find-a-Grave. Since I am not related to these other Greens I won't keep my notes, as long as I've done the work I might as well put it somewhere it might do someone else some good.
In April I will be seeing my mother in Lincoln and will have time to stop in Polk county and look at several cemeteries for myself.

Hi Suki...I'm looking for someone...thought you might be able to help because I think my mom said she lived in Biddeford at one time.....I'm looking for Simonne Perreault Martel..she married in 1937 to Lionel Martel Memorial# 56359608...Simonne "might" have remarried in 1958 to Marcel Larose but I'm not sure if it's really her or no.....I have pictures of both of them from my mom....thanks for your help

"Maybe there wasn't enough left of him to bury."
I hadn't thought of that....and now that you've mentioned it, I would like to un-think that!
