Hi, I am Billy .......|
(Last updated 16 Dec 2012)
Due to my Dad's death, I have taken over my dad's work on the Womble Family Tree. The Family tree goes back to the 1600's when the Wombles(Wombwell) came over from England to Virginia.((( Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Thomas Wombwell who settled in Virginia in 1648 ))) Sometime in the early 1700's the Wombles move to Edgecombe County, NC.
Edgecombe became a County 1741
Nash become a County 1771
Wilson become a County 1855
These are the 3 main Counties for the Womble
(The early years) ....
John Womble b.1756/d.1821
OFF of John William Womble b.1837/d.1904:
There are very few "Womble" (name Womble) left in Edgecombe County from the blood line. There is a lot of, next to kin, still there farming the home stead.
The Family Tree is not just of the Womble but it goes in all direction. You can follow the links I made on Fine A Grave. My dad did not take pictures of any headstones. SO, since I am out there anyway, why not take pictures of other headstones.
The County I will be going to is Harnett, Johnston, Wilson, Nash and Edgecombe, all in NC.
These are the main Counties.
I made this line for family members who would like to trace their family ancestry.
I prefer you to send me information on Find A Grave Memorial. Once I know there is an interest on that person, I will add the information and add some other information that I can find and sometimes I will start a family member search.(Trace their family tree) I love doing this and I do this for free.
Please do not ask for a Transfer just to own it.
Please add or contact me if you have family photos .......

|Jim Hart||Martha Sarah Wiggs Mayo parents|
I'm doing the family history of Harts and Aycocks in North Carolina, and I ran into your Find-a-Grave memorial for Martha Sarah Wiggs Mayo. She is sister to my GG Grandmother Mary E. Wiggs, who married Ervin Aycock. I've been trying to find information on the ancestors of their parents, Henry Wiggs and Eveline Pearce. I was wondering if you have (A) any proof that Pearce was Eveline's last name, and (B) any information on her parents, or Henry's. (There were about four Henry Wiggs' in Wayne/Johnston county at about that time, so I'm having a hard time telling which was which.)
Any help appreciated, and if you are interested in Mary Wiggs Aycock's family, I can help you out.

Her death cert shows he father as John but I see a marriage record for Mary Ann Skinner and Am C Harrell, who had a brother John. Any idea what's up with that? W C was my first cousin, four times removed. Alice Looney
|ROBERT TAYLOR SR||fairly sure we are relatives|
Dear Mr. Womble,
My name is Bobby Taylor from Disputanta, Va and I am fairly sure we are relatives. My 3rd generation great-grandmother was Susan F. Womble Lucas who was married to Wiley l. Lucas. They were parents to my grandmother, Emma Virginia Lucas Taylor. I have found during my genealogy search that most of my Taylor and Lucas ancestors lived in or around Edgecombe County, NC.
I am a Civil War enthusiast and would dearly love to join The Sons of Confederate Veterans. To be able to accomplish this, I need to identify a direct descendant that fought in the war and be able to substantiate that descendant. I have found several candidates but am not positive.
I saw your spot on Findagrave.com and the pictures of The Silas Lucas, Sr. Cemetery in Lucama, NC and saw the headstone of Daniel Lucas (1775-Nov. 18 1848) who I am 99% sure is my 8th generation great-grandfather.
If you could provide any assistance, I can't begin to tell you how much I would appreciate your help. Also, I would love to meet you because I'm sure you know some Taylor's in the Tarboro area that would be related to both of us. You can reply via email to: email@example.com. I was already planning a trip to Tarboro, so I would love to meet with you when I come.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Robert E. "Bobby" Taylor, Sr.
|Marilyn Wilkie||More info on Fred McCray Snipes, Jr.|
I have more information on this gentleman. He was related to my ex-husband and I have him in his tree on Ancestry. His father was the brother of my ex-husband's grandmother. I have more information on him if you wouldn't mind adding it to his memorial. It concerns his military record. He is listed in "World War II Young American Patriots, 1941-1945" on Ancestry. It gives a short biography of him and where he served, etc. It does say that he made Sgt. grade, though his headstone says Pvt.
|Paul Hendricks||J. M. Henry|
I am distantly related to this gentleman. He is apparently James M. Henry, the son of Samuel and Levinia (Viny) Henry/Hendricks. Samuel was the son of Tignal and Sallie Hendricks of Nash County. Samuel and his descendants are apparently listed as Henry's, although when Samuel remarried in 1894, his is listed as Samuel Hendrick, so it is not clear if this name change was his choice, or just a decision of the census takers, however it seems his descendants are Henry's. At any rate... Tommie Hendricks of Nash County is doing a lot of good work on this family and I would love to get in touch with anyone else with information on this family.
