I live in Chesapeake, Virginia and am a Civil War history buff and a lover of old cemeteries. I love to travel around Virginia with my Labrador Retrievers, enjoy the solitude and taking pictures of the battlefields.
As far as the memorials that I post, most of them are not family members of mine but rather memorials that I found to be really impressive when I was strolling though a cemetery or family members of photo requests that I fulfilled who didn't already have a memorial established. If you would like me to transfer any of them, please let me know.
Anyone who wishes to use any of my photographs for non-commercial purposes has my permission. Also, if I have posted a memorial of a relative that you object to, please notify me and I will remove it.
Many thanks to all of you who have shared stories of your family with me. Every day that I volunteer is a history lesson for me and I cherish the many stories that you have shared.
Thank you for the beautiful photograph of my 2nd great grandfather (John Arthur Jones) and grandmother's (Dianna) grave at Cedar Hill. My brother is the leading researcher and historian for our Nansemond Jones Family. He recently documented that Dianna's mother was not Elizabeth Pond but rather Elizabeth Williams. He originally thought it was Pond because a Lemuel Jones married an Elizabeth Pond in 1818. He recently found Dianna's sisters death certificate that indicates their mother as Elizabeth Williams. I found another family document that corroborates this. Also, we are not certain what Dianna's middle name was. Her oldest daughters indicate Lee on their death certificates, my great grandfather and his brother do not indicate any middle name. Though a cousin of mine is named Dianna Denson after her.It is only her youngest daughter's death certificate that says her mother was Evelyn Jones. We will let you know if we can get a definitive middle name.
Roller Photo Jake Dog, Thanks so much for taking the time to go to the cemetery, find the grave and take the picture that I had requested for George Roller. Take care and have a very Happy New Year, Wilkie Find A Grave
RE: Williams - Holly Lawn Cemetery Thank you Jake! For taking photos of my Aunt Vic Montanari Williams and her husband and their daughters' markers. I checked records to confirm dates and relationships and I submitted an edit to link Victoria and Walter as Helen's parents. Thanks for adding a memorial for Helen. The Williams had one more daughter, Katherine W Hundley so I submitted an edit to link her parents and her husband, Leonard E Hundley.
