I was raised near Howard, Miner Co, SD. The last few years I have been spending a lot of time doing genealogy work. It has evolved beyond working with genealogy groups into photographing gravestones and building a database of burials, particularly in Codington and Miner counties and surrounding cemeteries in South Dakota. I am a stickler for accuracy, so don't be surprised if I suggest changes for cemeteries in the area I am familiar with. However, I also make my share of mistakes, so don't be afraid to point them out to me too. The next worse thing to not having info on burials is to have misleading or incorrect info.

RE: Helga Torvanger
Bill, I will make the changes you requested. I prefer the edit process and I don't always get emails saying I have a comment left for me and I more frequently check my edits. It is more timely.

My daughter and I visited the cemetery while on Bainbridge Island for my nephew's wedding. The data I found for parents name was from death information found on the Washington State Archives list when I returned home to and uploaded the pictures. Thus it is entirely possible it is not correct. I just try to add information as best I can when I can.

The vast majority of edit's can be done on the Edit tab - including maiden name additions/change, parent links, DOB and DOD information, marker transcription additions/changes, etc.

Thanks for the suggestion, pairing Halvor Folkestad Jr. with wife, Margreta. It is done!

Caroline Amanda Hogan
Caroline A Hogan, wife of John Hogan is buried in Willoughby Cemetery in Great Valley, NY where they lived at the time of her death. Caroline was my great great grandfather's sister, and I have photographed her grave as it is not far from my home. John remarried before moving to SD. Her name was Milantha in the census. Maybe she is buried with John in Miner. Caroline's memorial is at this link: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSsr=41&GSmid=48058596&GRid=47183798&
