Bio and Links
Bio Photo As a licensed funeral director & embalmer, it was only fitting that I be interested in cemeteries and graves. Then I started researching my ancestry and cemetery research became even more interesting. From my ancestry research, I became interested in locating & documenting old abandoned and forgotten cemeteries in my area.

Thanks for Cheel and Bud
Thank you Mr.Clark for creating those memorial pages. It means a lot to know they haven't been forgotten. Harold White and his son Richard had said that they were going to make sure some markers were placed up there for them but I guess they never got around to it. The house at the bottom of the hill use to be owned by Charlie White and his wife Cora and there was a small country store that was behind it that Cora ran. The White Cemetery is across the street up a small embankment. Cora White was Cheel and Bud's younger sister. Cora married Charlie White. Their grandson Harold owned White's Lumber but he passed away a year or so ago and now his sons own it. Anyways, I thought you might like to know that they probably chose that hill because it was close to Cora as well as being hard to reach.
Thanks again for your interest in my family, it's appreciated. Sincerely,
TrentGreen

RE: Stephen Hamilton McKenzie,
Hello Mr. Clark,
I am the GGG Granddaughter of Stephen Hamilton and Sara Rose McKenzie. Their son Stephen Hamilton McKenzie Jr. was also known as Cheel McKenzie. It is Cheel and Bud McKenzie who are buried on the hill in Holly Fork. It's believed that this was where they had their moonshine still and that they loved it so much that they didn't want to be parted from it. I know it is believed that Cheel and Bud were brothers but I have never found any of his siblings that had the nickname Bud. On the other hand, though I do know that he had an uncle who was called Bud. He was his mother's brother named Thomas C. Rose and he died June 13,1919 while Cheel was in Leavenworth, Chelan County, Washington. So I'm not positive on who Bud was. Cheel never married but he lived in Washington for at least 10 years probably a bit longer than that. He was working as a boom man in the logging industry and buying up property while he looked after his sister Ida {my great grandmother}and his niece Maude {my grandmother}. He brought Maude home to Kentucky in Jan. of 1920 and lived the rest of his life in Ky. His sister Ida died April 1918 and he was loved very much by his niece Maude. If I can be of any further assistance please let me know. My names Barbie AKA

Family a.o.
Hi Joe, Thank you I would like to thank you for your time doing the grave yard. I would like a transfer and any other but will let you know which might be family. I've got family all over the world. Let me copy my thompson line down.
Mind that my great grandfather Cecil was not a particularly good man but his sisters and brothers so far I know were ok.

James Franklin Thompson (1824 - 1906)
is your 3rd great grandfather (married
Latisha Young)

William Thompson (1849 - 1891)
son of James Franklin Thompson
(married Elizabeth "Liza" Louisa Bailey)

Cecil Thompson (1878 - 1943)
son of William Thompson (married Margaret "Maggie" Gollihue -2nd of 4 wives)

Edward Roy Thompson (1907 - 1985)
son of Cecil Thompson
(Married Elizabeth Meadows)

Richard "Rich" Byron Thompson (1941 - )
son of Edward Roy Thompson
(Married Maureen Donachy)

Karyn A. Thompson-Donachy
You are the daughter of Richard "Rich" Byron Thompson

Of course she could have been from one of the MANY brothers and sisters line. Could I ask her name and line? I probably could match up someone. I could give you my private email kadonachy (at) telfort.nl.

Also to let you know if you haven't read my bio. I am an expat so I rely alot on and am really grateful for the work you guys do. My only link to any Americans is the War cemetery in Margraten, The Netherlands and probably all those have a website where you could get all kinds of info on the grave already. I look forward to hear from you,
:o) Karyn
