Most of the memorials I have posted are not kin to me. I would be happy to transfer 99% of them. Just ask nicely using the "edit" tab on the memorial you want transferred to you and don't forget to include your member ID number. Transfer requests that do not include a member ID# will be ignored. |
BE ADVISED: I have found 7 instances where my copyrighted photos have been copied and uploaded by another as if they owned the copyright. I DO NOT TRANSFER COPYRIGHTS to any photos when I transfer memorials. I do, however, REPORT THE THIEF, for each and every occurrence. DO NOT STEAL.

Thank you for the transfers, all seven of them. I have begun to work on the bios starting with Guri. I will also add a photo for Tollef when I complete his bio. Someday I hope to find photos for the remainder of the family that lived to adulthood and are buried at Barre.

Thank you for the transfer. These are not my direct relatives but I am glad to keep them all linked up with other relatives.
|Brian Lightfoot||RE: Aurilla McCarty|
There's probably more of a story than what I know. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that Aurilla and husband Leo purchased 2 gravesites in Wisconsin while they were both relatively young. Years later, the warmth of Florida attracted them both down to the sunshine state. Maybe at the time of his death in 1942, they didn't have much money and found out they could get a free burial site for him right there at the national cemetery. I don't know for sure if that national cemeteries buries spouses with the serviceman or not but with Aurilla and aunt Catherine spending so much time together, it only seemed natural to let Catherine have one of the sites in Trempealeau otherwise it would go to waste. And who knows what happened when Aurilla finally died. Maybe she wanted to be buried in her home town of Trempealeau, maybe she didn't care, or maybe her surviving relatives didn't have the money or time to ship her down to Florida for a burial there. At any rate, it was an interesting gravestone that caused me to do a bit of research.
