Have documented Twining Cemetery in Tolland, Mass. Connected many memorials to relatives in other cemeteries. About a dozen fallen & broken stone are being repaired in the cemetery. Twining memorials have been transferred to a descendant of Elijah Twining.

I like to resolve duplicate memorials, even though not my family. Also, while those memorials are being fixed, family connections are added where possible. If you are aware and don't have time to fix a duplicate, please contact me. I believe this effort has value to the site. There are a lot of duplicates!!

Have established a website for Twining Cemetery to facilitate what needs to be done to preserve some of the stones that need mending.

PART II, 104152903; Lonnie Greenway SR
Just a F.Y.I.-- This memorial was created on Jan 25, 2013.
I took photos of the entire cemetery & posted them on/ about Oct 7, 2013. That memorial (# 104152903) was created and posted Correctly, in that cemetery, when I posted photos. If it had not been, then 'I' would've created the memorial page in October. :)
The other memorial was created in Dec. of 2013...
Hopefully the creator of the other memorial will contact the owner of the first memorial & they can work this out.
But, thank you for allowing me to move my photo. :) Much appreciated!

Lonnie Greenway
According to Find A Grave, first & middle names should be written out completely, if known. Only last names should be exactly as shown on the headstone.

I always check the cemetery before I add a memorial and this other memorial for Lonnie Greenway was not on there when I added mine. Theirs must have been in "unknown cemetery" or in the wrong cemetery and they moved it.
Here are Find A Grave rules from their help page:

First Name
First name of the deceased. Put the entire first name (if known), even if the grave marker is only an initial. Do not include titles or other prefixes in the First Name field.

Last Name
Last Name as you would find it on the tombstone, if the interred had more than one marriage or other possible spellings please place this information in the bio and use the family links. Do not include honorary or other suffixes in the Last Name field.

TWINING, William & Ann[a]
Hi George....Thank you for the date upudates on the William & Ann Twining. I'm not sure then how good my source is on those dates. I haven't seen Ann written as Anna anywhere as yet. Are you familiar with the source below? It was published by Mayflower Society of Mayflower Descendants Vol. VI; Boston, 1904.

William Twining, 1590, England; d. 15 Apr 1659, Eastham, MA.

Ann, [Wm's wife], died 27 Feb 1680, Eastham.

My source is: THE MAYFLOWER DESCENDANT: Quarterly Magazine; VOL.6:
[pg.40] "William Twineing Senior Decesed the fiftenth* Day of Apreill in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundered fifty nine (*"Sevententh" was crossed out, and "fiftenth" interlined in the same hand.)

[pg.40] "Ann Twining which was the Wife of William Twining senior died the twentieseventy day of feburari[e] In the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred and eightie".

You are quite welcome again George!~

The 2 Knox in row 32 I could not find. Actually I did not see a row 32 at all. The last row is 33 and the next row is 31? I couldn't find the other 3 either. So, onto the next :) Hopefully you can finish it off in May - or if you have more specifics I can go back..just let me know.

You are quite welcome...No, I went yesterday with my daughter and there were wind gusts up to 25 mph or higher...soon as she couldn't take the cold we left ...the 2 in the front row 2 I couldn't find..Will go back to do the rest soon. I went in order once I found out the lay of the land so to speak. So I have the back now to do. I work in Westfield almost daily, so hopefully in the next week I'll do the rest.

Joy in Hill Cemetery
Hey George, I went through all my photos from the last trip up to Hill Cemetery and didn't have one for this family, which is definitely possible as I did not comprehensively photograph it like I did with Blandford Cemetery. I will of course do that as soon as all this snow is gone, which seems to be piling up on a regular basis these past few weeks. Jim

Howdy George,

Started last summer just taking pics at Hillcrest and have actually added names and stones that were not on Find A Grave yet....
So that's how I managed to get the pic of George S's stone....
My goal is to do the whole cemetery and post up the pics that are missing....
