|GordyF||Smart Cemetery Lovell Me.|
Joseph W. Bourne is my G-great grandfather. Visited his grave in 2002, and just came across this great service from a posting on the Massachusetts listserve.
The stone gave his birthdate via his age.
Two of my great grandmother's sisters are also buried there, one, Carrie, has the same name her. Apparently it was not unusual for a child to be named the same as a deceased sibling. There are two occurances of it in our family.
I believe that Joseph Bourne's in-laws were Daniel and Rhoda Smart. All records that I have of Joseph's wife give her name as Sarah Hobbs, but I bleieve Hobbs was her middle name not her surname, and that it was Smart. There is a Marriage record in Lovell stating that Joseph Smart Married Sarah Smart on about the right dates.
Do you have any relationship or did you volunteer to photo the site?
