I was born in southwestern Minnesota and now live in the Twin Cities. |
My wife introduced me to genealogy in 1998. Since then I've discovered a little Scottish in my otherwise Norwegian and German ancestry.
The cemeteries of Rock County, Minnesota (Maplewood, St. Catherine's Catholic and Memory Gardens also known as Restlawn Memorial Gardens, and Luverne Memorial Gardens) are of particular interest to me.
My goal is to keep families connected to their ancestors through Find A Grave. I will gladly transfer memorials to family members.
Please submit any additions or corrections to me under "EDIT" and "SUGGEST A CORRECTION" on the memorial site.

RE: An Illustrated History of the Counties of Rock & Pipestone Minnesota.
Holy Thanksgiving, what a wonderful gift. That would be my great grandfather. I could never find anything telling me what Great Grandma Carrie's maiden name ACTUALLY was. I have been using Oldness which probably is Olson in Norwegian. My husband and I visiting LUVERNE, HARDWICK & PIPESTONE a couple of years ago but I didn't find out until after the trip from an old neighbor out there where their homestead was....even though we had driven right past it a couple of times. I was just sick after I found out. We loved the area. My father was Robert H. Hill (1921-1993), son of Amanda, their daughter and her cousin Henry F. Hill, son of Henrich & Bertha (Lenz) Hill. Yup, I am a Hill from both ends. I did get a copy of a picture of the homestead from a cousin.
Thanks so much and I will add it to his bio. You are an angel.

Oh! Very nice photo of his military marker!

Thanks! I have read some public messages for several contributors and noticed that there was some kind of problem with photo association to memorials on the Find A Grave website, but it is left to contributors to sort it out. Good of you to do so.
Greg, Samantha Bakker is my great niece (#136013960), would you kindly transfer her memorial management to me?

Hi! The photo you posted on memorial #54549410 is incorrect and should be removed.
Perhaps you still have the correct photo?

Thank you Greg. Also is there a reason why Noah Taylor has not been added? I added pictures of tombstones to a few Taylors. Need to get back over there and find my Great Grandparents spot!
Can I link all of these together myself? I have been researching the MAdison history and have many that could be linked from Iowa and Illinios

Thanks, Greg, for transferring the first of the memorials for Fairview Cemetery. I started working on the "A"s last evening. I appreciate your help in supplementing the bio information on the memorials in our cemetery.
