I am interested in the family history of my family & my husband's family.(I am originally from Adams,MN & he is from Hayfield, MN) We now live in New Ulm. Some family names are Hemingway, Lee, Hagen, Peterson,Aarhus, Gordon, Huseby,Torgerson,Lewison, Anderson, Johnson, Share|
I first became interested in family history when I took a women's study class entitled "Our Foremothers". One assignment was to do an oral history with an older relative. Hearing the stories that my mom, my grandma & my husband's grandma had to share was priceless. The past became alive and names & dates became real people. I think my quest is bringing these stories and people to the younger generations that we will not lose this connection...and that our foremothers and forefathers will not be forgotten.

There are all kinds of rank errors on the VA memorial loads. You can ask them to remove it, but I have found they usually ignore the requests.
|David Gomer||William & Lillian Gomer|
I like what you've done by adding memorials to William and Lillian Gomer. Good work and I don't see any corrections needed. There are two Montana marriage records for them, 24Sep1940 Great Falls, MT and 22Oct1941 Dillon, MT. Wonder if the 24Sep1940 date is a MT divorce date? I went with your marriage date. I'm glad you cleared up the Clara/Lillian first name thing. I didn't know much on Ella. She must of married William in Mower County, before they moved to a farm in Brooten, MN? After having their 3 childen there, they separated/divorced. Our family story is William went west with Gretrude & Vernon; and Ella went east with Dorothy? William opened a successful Diesel Parts Business in Montana (website: USDieselParts.com) in 1938, and is currently in its 3th generation of being family owned. Ella is still the mystry, did she go with William to MT instead of going east? I didn't know Ella married again. Do you know where? Also, where did she end up? Same thing with Dorothy. I only knew she married a Hackley (from Gertudes obit). Was it just Dorothy that went east after marrying? My Uncle August Gomer, I found out recently, visited her on the east coast when he was alive and stationed there. Do you know why William & Lillian are buried in Idaho, instead of Montana? I look forward to working with you in finding the puzzles pieces in our family ancestry! Thanks again.

Thanks for posting addtional infomation on her ancestry. One typo: Lillian's 1st husband's last name is Mallon, not Malm. Thanks
Thanks for your picture of her grave and all your research. I was researching Swan Magnus Ekblad and came across the same paper work you dd. I updated his bio to include his first marriage.

|David Gomer||Vernon Bud Gomer FAG#53146260|
Vernon is the son of William Gomer Find A Grave#124518186 and mother: Ella (Anderson) Gomer, No Find A Grave - 1st wife of William Gomer,
Vernon had two sisters: Dorothy (Gomer) Hackley (mother Ella) No Find A Grave; and Gertrude (Gomer) Prugh, Watts (mother Ella) already posted.
I believe Vernon's middle name is Boyd, and Bud was his life long nickname, and recorded on his military headstone.
|David Gomer||C.Lillian Gomer FAG#124518314|
Her maiden name: Lillian Clara Rice
1st husband: Evertt Mallon (1888-1939) No Find A Grave
2nd husband: William Gomer as per your Find A Grave
I don't know why the C. is before Lillian on the headstone?
Clarence is buried with Genevieve and Ida is buried next to them! I created memorials for the wives and will do links later. I gotta leave the house now.

You're very welcome! I actually prefer taking photos when it's cooler and no bugs and dirt and the snow photos are so pretty. The only disadvantage is lack of light-and we've had a few sunny days this month and they always come with the bitter cold. I really appreciate the thank you.
