 | RE: Allenton Cemetery/ Julia A, and Mary M. Compton April, Thank you so much for your reply. I live in Texas, so I hope someone with try to take a close up photo of Julia A Sauverhaver Compton's headstone in the Allenton Cemetery. Maybe she not have one, because the one you took looks as if it just had one headstone in it, and that may have been for her mother-in-law, Mary Matilda Linam Compton. What do you recall about this cemetery? Did you take any notes? Did you once live in Alabama? Sorry for all the questions, but cemetery looked so interesting.
Thanks again, Alice a_plp@netzero.netAdded by Alice on May 05, 2013 10:29 PM | | | Alice
 | Allenton Cemetery Sorry, my message should have said Allenton Cemetery in Wilcox County, not Allentown. This was concerning James E. Compton and Mary Matilda Linam Compton. Thanks, Alice.Added by Alice on May 05, 2013 6:53 PM | | | Charles Flinn

 | Mary Matilda Linam Compton # 26337486 Allentown Cem. Wilcox County, AL She is my 3rd gr grandmother and I would like to know if you thought her husband, James E. Compton could have been buried nearby. They were said to have both been buried in Allentown. Could you tell me anything about the cemetery where she was buried. Thanks for your photo! | Infant Boy Springer Twin boys were born in Selma in 1924. The father was Charles Tillmon Springer, wife Alla Maye Mills Springer. One of the babies was stillborn. A family friend, Lucy McDaniel Spiva arranged to have the infant buried in her family plot.I see that Lucy was buried in the Camden Cemetery in Wilcox Co. Alabama in 1955. There are a couple Springers buried in that cemetery who are related, but there is no infant listed and there may not be a headstone or marker for his grave. I don't know if this would be in a McDaniel or Spiva family plot. The mother died a few days after the baby and we believe the father was in no condition to do anything about the burial of his son and wife. She is buried up near Tuscaloosa. I would appreciate any information on this question. Nancy Springer | | | | [View all messages...] |
