I got hook on genealogy after talking to my Grandfather (George E. Deskins) about the "Good Old Days" and how he had a story about everyone and everything. I started by researching only my immediate family but it has escalated to years of research, meeting wonderful people, hearing amazing stories and with much help from other dedicated researchers. After joining FAG it keeps getting better and better.
I hope that all of realize that we all are related and should treat everyone the way we want to be treated.
My main research is on all the Deskin, Deskins and Deskines lines, but I also do Jackson and Matney
This wonderful tool of FAG is out of this world, I want to thank all the fabulous people that have help me in so many ways. I would not of had the opportunity to meet many of my relatives, as well as others if not for FAG. There is no way I can ever thank many of you, researcher before me, people willing to share info as well as photos and their lives.
I would also like to make a point, this is not a genealogical site, but it gives us a wonderful opportunity to connect our relatives, showing really how small our world is, so I hope that some that feel they don't want to transfer for whatever reason and this is your right, perhaps think that MOST of us, do not do it for numbers but because we appreciate the honor of caring for our relatives like I do. When I hear about my relatives even thou I have never met them, it's like knowing them. Hope this makes sense.

I too am working on connecting as many as I can, and adding as much information that I can find with research. I'd be more than happy to revisit this if in the future you find you are more closely related.

RE: Nathaniel Taylor
We are not related as far as I know, but I grew up knowing John E. Taylor and a number of his descendants. When I was writing my book Lower Brushy Revisited, Brushy people collected all the pictures they could find (about a thousand) of people who had ever lived on Lower Brushy. When I learned about findagrave.com, I started putting on as many of those pictures as I could so others could see some they might never have seen.

Francis P. "Frank" Trites #40909956
Sue;
I am related to Francis Trites through my mother's side of the family.
I'm sorry, but I choose to keep this memorial. But..., if you have any info about Francis, I would be happy to post it to his memorial.

Thank you.

RE: Duskin
Hello Sue Thank you for the complement on my tree. Like you I work hard at it and try to keep things right. The thing with John Deskins I had the wrong record and missed that part sorry I removed it.
When I started with the Duskin side I did not realize there were Deskins/Duskin/Duskins till now. I thought they may have been misspelled haha silly me. I ask my mom tonight about the name She has no idea why they changed it. There was no big trouble and no one was ever in jail. For some reason Thurman drop the s but no one else did.

About #120224227 she never herd of him/her. I looked on the LDS site and the name came up with Falcom Lucille Deskins 1918 Bear creek lawrence Ky. Father Fred Deskins mother Lizzie Vanhorn so far thats all i found. If that's right that would be Williams Brother Thurman's uncle.
If you would like to keep the memorials that's fine I would just like them linked.

My mom and I are going to go see my grandma in a couple weeks so I will bring my note book. Thurman's sister Ann one of her daughter's did a family tree. My mom thinks she started it when most of these people were still alive. My mom is looking for her contact info also. Have a nice day Frank
