I am a second generation native of California, but my roots go deep into New England via the Midwest and Great Plains. (Genealogy and family history figure large in my interests.)|
I grew up with a view of Glen Abbey Memorial Park, and my siblings and I roamed its grounds when we could. Although none of my family is buried there, I feel a kind of ownership of that place!
I like to take multiple photos in Glen Abbey Memorial Park, to give a feel for the place where people are buried. If I have posted more photographs than you would prefer on a memorial of one of your loved ones, let me know your preferences. On the other hand, if I have only posted a photo of the marker and you would like something more, let me know that, and I will take more photos or add something I already have for that area of the cemetery.
You may contact me at jfgilman at gmail or by a message here.

Thank you so much for the tombstone photos :)

A photo will be just fine. If you get a plot location when you go there, I would appreciate that and any cemetery maps. Thank-you again.
Thank you for taking and posting the photo of Medford and Neaville B. Courtney's marker from Glen Abbey Mausoleum. "Aunt Neaville" was originally named Jessie Neaville Bartlett, which was fully written in her marriage record, consistent with being identified as Jessie N. Bartlett in prior census records of 1910 and 1920. "Jessie" was resurrected as her middle name in the Texas death records, while the Social Security Adm. knew her as Neaville B. Courtney, consistent with the marker. Preparation of a death certificate probably precluded the use of her maiden name as her middle name. It is also possible that she was called "Neaville" as a child at home to distinguish her from her father who was named Jesse. You would think they might have thought about that from the beginning...:)

Jane, Thank you so much for the great photographs of Mary's headstone. I was not surprised that John did not have a headstone, I have found many older graves that have not been marked with a headstone, but I am very happy to have found Mary as well. I have an Apr. 21, 1931 date of death, but I don't know where I got that info from, so will have to do some further research. Thank you again so much for all the information. I will definitely follow up on the Ancestry information. Thank you again! Anita

The newspaper listed him under Glen Abbey. I will wait a month and then ask for a picture of his tombstone or crypt.
I put his first wife there tentatively in case she is there. She was the mother of his children.
The middle initial might represent her maiden name.

You're very welcome!

Hi Jane - I have seen the NGL system wrong many times so its a big possibility with Daniels name also. Since you found a copy of his birth certificate that is proof enough for me to change it to Arthur. Thank you! Cindy
