Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a second generation native of California, but my roots go deep into New England via the Midwest and Great Plains. (Genealogy and family history figure large in my interests.)

I grew up with a view of Glen Abbey Memorial Park, and my siblings and I roamed its grounds when we could. Although none of my family is buried there, I feel a kind of ownership of that place!

I like to take multiple photos in Glen Abbey Memorial Park, to give a feel for the place where people are buried. If I have posted more photographs than you would prefer on a memorial of one of your loved ones, let me know your preferences. On the other hand, if I have only posted a photo of the marker and you would like something more, let me know that, and I will take more photos or add something I already have for that area of the cemetery.

RE: Ivey-Record-Johnson
Well, they must be related somehow. The marker style is exactly the same for all three. I wondered if maybe Charles was Margaret's brother. Since the inscription doesn't say "Father" or "Husband" it looks like he might not have ever married. I guess that will be a mystery for you to uncover. Good luck!

Hello! I am about to fulfill your photo requests and just wanted you to know that their graves are situated a little differently than you described. While facing the upright monument, Charles Johnson's is on the left, Margaret Ivey's is in the middle right under the monument, and Lora Record's is to the right of the monument.

There is an interesting inscription at the top of Charles's marker that says "Lover". I've never seen that before.

There is a shadow on Margaret's marker from the upright monument. I'll try to get a better photo at another time of day to avoid the shadow.

Also, FYI there are no other markers with the surname Record in the near vicinity.

Best regards,

does your library have an online help source to look into microfiche records? Mpls library does, just use your library card # and they search for you. but not out of state papers - I already asked.

Laura aka Lala; listed as Lola in TN on 1940 census. her CA death index had Lala Myra Ausman with the correct birth date of 10 Feb 1901; death date 24 Jun 1987 in San Diego, CA.
I hadn't found Franklin's death info.
