Grandma Mac (Elizabeth Ella Kellogg MacFaddin) was the genealogist of the family. She got the "bug" from her father. She kept all her research in an old black suitcase. There were notes on all sorts of scraps of paper – the back of a grocery list, used envelopes and even a bank statement here and there. Her handwriting was neat and dainty. She would come down from Fresno and Daddy would drive her in to the Los Angeles Main Library to spend all day there working on her research. When she passed away in 1970 the suitcase was put away, until my sister took up the task in 1999, of sorting through all of Grandma's bits and bobs of information.|
I personally had no interest in genealogy. That is until 2008 when quite by accident, I found my Dad's name in another family tree. So it's not my fault that I've become obsessed with the family history. I have a need to connect the dots.
Back to Grandma Mac, wouldn't she just have a field day with all the information that is at our fingertips today? Many thanks go out to all the volunteers through the various groups, like Find A Grave that give their time to help put the family puzzles together.
Names I am researching: MacFaddin/McFaddin or McFadden, Boynton, Breed, Caldow, Clark, Cody, Higgins, Hiscock, Houghton, Kellogg, Rathermel, Sairs, Schuck and Wilder.

Thanks so much for posting this memorial. I think the information I have for her birth/death dates came from the SS death register. However, sometime in the early 70s she wrote my father asking for an affidavit stating she was 90 years old. She wanted to go on a trip with her son Bob, and didn't have a birth certificate. I suppose she must have wanted a passport. So, her birth year is really anybody's guess.

Hello, I created a memorial for Henrietta Uriel Smoot Hanson without first checking to see that there was one, however, I have added photos and linked to all of her family members in my memorial, so can you please delete yours.
Also, I have not been able to find the first name of Henrietta's husband on any documents. Do you know whether she is buried next to her husband and if so, what is his name? Thank you, Sorry for the confusion. Bev

thank you for grave information. It led me right to their grave, & saved me from going into the busy cemetery office. Their stone is especially nice, with some pinkish color to it.
