Leave yours. California Death Index trumps Cemetery Map. The date on the cemetery map may be when he was buried, August 1, 1951. Thanks for getting back to me. Linda

Lisa, thank you soooooooo much for forwarding this information to me. I am overwhelmed!! Family lore is that Elizabeth Birmingham Miller was married before Arthur to a Mullens in Australia and had two children she brought into the marriage in 1858, and Arthur must have given those children his surname. I am curious to know if this person with the dictionary might unknowingly be a member of this clan. I would love to have the dictionary of course being Arthur & Elizabeth Millers g-g-granddaughter, but would also love to put the pieces of this puzzle together. I look forward to hearing from this person and thanks again Lisa. What a find!!! Sherry

Hi: I have an 1852 Websters dictionary that probably belonged to Arthur G. Miller and his wife Elizabeth Birmingham. In the very back of this BIG dictionary is written Arthur G. Miller and Elizabeth Birmingham married Nov. 9th. 1858.
That's all, no other writing in the book. After finally looking for them I see that in the 1860 census that they had 3 children. Since they weren't married until 1858 this doesn't seem possible. I'm not related to this family and have had this dictionary for over 40 years. All the 1000 plus pages are still in it, some are lose.
I would be glad to give this book to a family member if they are willing to pay the postage. Thanks, Sue Wood

Do you have the correct death date? I have August 1, 1951. Linda
|Lorraine Keith||James Abney|
Thank you for adding the memorial 36283152 and photo of the gravestone for James Abney who was buried in the Forbestown Cemetery, Butte County, California. I don't think I would have learned what happened to him otherwise.
His plot number at Butte County Cemetery is R6/N161A.

Cemetery records show him as Thomas Fanson.
It's interesting how many markers you have photographed but their names are not on the official list. 5 so far and I'm only on the E's!

The cemetery has him b. 9/24/1875 and d. 1/3/1948. It also shows his last name as Davie.

At Butte County Cemetery, you have a listing for NFN Collins, died 10/26/43. Cemetery records show his first name as William. I'm going through the list to add/update names at this cemetery.
