I have been interested in Genealogy for quite a few years. I stumbled upon Find A Grave when I was using and decided that this was something I would enjoy doing. So, my latest hobby was born. I enjoy going to cemeteries and taking photos to upload to this site. Others have done the same for me. It means the world to me to be able to see the grave sites of those who came before me.

Through research I have discovered that about 17 or so generations back on my father's side, I have 2 Princes of Wales and a King of Wales in my lineage.

Recently I connected with a distant cousin through this site and was able to find out some amazing things about my father's family.

I am researching the Ross family of Shubert, Nebraska primarily. I am also interested in the Parent family of Ascension Parish, Louisiana as well.

"The Chosen"

We are the chosen. In each family there is one (or more) who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again. To tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes (hopefully) have at least one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes. Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story. So, we do. In finding them, we somehow find ourselves.

Greetings, Joy -
Thank you for the rapid response to this photo request. I was perplexed by the numbers on her marker, until I realized it was the plot location.

Very exciting and I am hoping to see more of my family.

Thanks, again!

Thanks again.
I did not realize that my Uncle Don did not have a headstone. Thanks for the info regarding his final resting place.

Hello Joy,
Thank you for posting that great photo. I have no family interest in the site, only the fact that Francis was a member of a Civil War regiment I am researching - so I will not be asking to take over the responsibility of maintaining the site. If you want to post information about his Civil War service I will be happy to provide you with it. Again, thanks for your help and interest. Sincerely, Dean Knudsen
