We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.
If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.
Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.
If you have already received this message, please accept our apologies for the duplicate message.

Thanx for the transfer of the Jacob E. Brenner memorial.
|David Gillespie||RE: Alexander Short|
Thanks so much for the Transfers Mr. Myers. Pencader is a beautiful cemetery, and is a roll call of our family, it seems. We are most grateful for your hard work sir!

Thank you for listing my 5th Great Grandfather
Alexander Darragh Short #26622455
We know his dates, and I already have the ownership of his wife, and thanks to your listing we found Pencader Cemetery in Delaware and visited from South Carolina! I wonder if you could transfer his ownership to me
David Gillespie #46931384
I will then fill out all his other data and link him with his parents and children!
Thanks so much!

Regarding your photo request for Ethel Collin, 9/12/13 I have information for you.
The cemetery burial record for lot U-704 shows no stone was ever placed on the lot. We visited the cemetery last month and saw no stone on lot U-704.
Here is a quick rundown on the contents of the lot which you might already know: There are six persons buried in that lot between 1890 and 1942. Albert Collin, age 5, was buried in grave 1 on 6/15/1890.
William G. W. Collin, age 39, was buried in grave 2 on 4/30/1900.
Charlotte Smith, age 53, was buried in grave 4 on 12/3/1901.
Eleanor Collin, age 3 months, was buried in grave 1 on 3/22/1910.
Annie Sims, age 44, was buried in grave 2 on 2/12/1912.
Ethel Collin, age 52, was buried in grave 3 on 6/2/1942.
Considering no stone was found you might want to consider cancelling the photo request. Thanks -JohnF

|JohnF||RE: Harry Land Photo|
The burial record just says Sarah Carpenter Land. I suppose it would take some research to tell if was a typical middle name honoring an elder family member, possibly grandparent, or a statement that it was her maiden name.
It seems strange that she is the only one of the eight with a fully spelled middle name. If I were to speculate I would opt for it being a maiden name. It might be productive to peruse the 1850 & 1860 census for some Carpenter families in PA. That is probably where I would start. Good luck with following the clues.

I was pleased to add the picture to the pages requested in the photo requests. For your information according to the burial record for A-88:
Sarah's middle name is CARPENTER. That may be a help to you during research.
Buried in the lot but not on the stone are:
Anna M. Land, age 32, buried 12/24/1931, Gr. 1
Matilda Land, age 80, buried 5/10/1949, Gr. 4
Mary A. Smith, age 4, buried 7/16/1879, Gr. 1
If you create a page for any of the above I will be happy to add the stone picture upon request.
Regarding John N. Land, he is not in the burial record for Lot A-88 so I did not post the picture on his page. Being 1949 the cemetery office might have to be contacted. They do charge $20 for look-up information. Thought you would like to know as a heads-up. If I see it during my research I will let you know the location. Regards,

Just a little info - John Heagy Snavely was born in March 1851.
With the death records being published this year, I should be able to provide you with his death date later.
