|Sherry Lee||John Merlin Wood|
You need to change the death date on John Merlin Wood. You have it 1951 and should be 1957. Your obit date is correct.

In your bio. you mentioned working on Brookside Cemetery in Campbellsville. Do you have a list of who is buried there? It is my understanding one of my ancestors donated the land for that cemetery and is buried there. His name was Henderson James Colvin he died in 1837 (I have never seen a stone for him). His wife Mary E. Colvin d.1854, is buried there and did have a stone, but down through the years it has disappeared. I have my suspicions that it has been covered with dirt at the edge of the cemetery where there is a pile of dirt. That is about where her stone use to be. If you can help me in any way with these two I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks for your postings on findagrave, sure helps me with my genealogy research.

Mary Parrot with the Catholic church in Campbellsville was responsible for cleaning it up and it is my understanding the Catholic church are keeping it up. It has been more than a year since I have been out there, it looked good then, better than the photo's I have on here. If you click on the photo's I have a little history I got from Mary Parrot. I hoped it would show up without clicking on the photo. Is there any way I can get the history to show up without clicking on the photo. Thanks for helping me get the two cemeteries separated. I know there is some of the graves I have posted still on the "New" cemetery site, but at least people will know now there are two sights and if they would like to see a grave in person they will know where to go. Thanks again.

Let me know what you need regarding Brookside.
I grew up here, but was gone from the time I was 12 until 3 months ago (a total of 47 years!). Both my parents are from here and they moved back in 1999 after retirement. I also have a lot of family here, so I was in and out of Campbellsville a lot. I still know a lot of people here. I too am trying to add info related to family and friends. I'll try to help any way I can. Let me know what you are looking for.
|Janet||RE: Marvin Bond|
I found 39 Marvin Bond's on Find A Grave. I have no clue which one you are talking about. A little more info and I can do a little research for you like cemetery and his date of birth.

|Diane Gravlee||More on Jesse Gaddie|
I tried using the email address you sent me, but I got a mail delivery system problem report. So I will paste my message here instead for now:
Thanks so much for the information about Laura G. Gaddie and her marriage to Ernest Shope. Also for Jesse's possible 1st wife of Dorothy Duke Pierce. I had his first wife as possibly Mariah Morris with a marriage in 1871 from two related family members. But more important I am delighted to have the 3rd wife, Sallie James, now with that marriage date and place!
I am following the Rev. Jesse Matthew Gaddie because he is the son of Benjamin Gaddie and Clarissa Druin. Clarissa Druin is my Great-great grandfather's sister. I am not related to the Shope family that I am aware of at the moment except through the fact that Jesse and Susan's daughter, Laura G. Gaddie, married Ernest Shope as you have now informed me. I had 9 children for Jesse, but it did not include a daughter Laura G. When was she born? Do you have a birth date? Now I am wondering if Jesse does have a grave marker after all in
Brookside Cemetery and that his 3rd wife, Sallie, may be buried next to him or shares a marker with him. Would this be possible, do you think? Diane Druin Gravlee
|Diane Gravlee||RE: Jesse Gaddie|
Yes, he was a minister (Baptist). He married first to Mariah Morris in 1871 and second to Susan Skaggs in 1874, whom he later divorced between 1894 and 1899. I would love a copy of the obituary if that would be possible. I can send you my snail mail address if you can't email it.
|Diane Gravlee||RE: Jesse Gaddie|
I do not know whether Jesse has a marker or not. We visited this cemetery on a trip a few years back and I can't rememeber if he was on my list at that time or not. I know it is a large cemetery, but it appeared at the time that the older burials were at the bottom of the cemetery and newer ones at the top; not sure that will help you locate it. I usually put a notation in my database that I looked and couldn't find it, but I have no such notation for him. I hope you can find him in the survey to confirm he has a marker. Rev. Jesse Gaddie's wife was Susan (Sudie) Skaggs Gaddie; they may share a joint marker.
Diane (an extended family member)
Just took a better look at the headstone. Going by the initials, the child's parents were George Francis Borders and Hallie Rice. George Francis was the son of George (1790-1878).
Have you seen any other Borders buried in that cemetery? I'd appreciate if you could add memorials if you can. Since a lot of the deaths from that line occurred before 1900, I have no way of knowing for sure who is buried in that cemetery.
