Hello
Hi, I would like your permission to use the photo you took of James H. Parker's grave stone in my family tree on ancestry. Thank you for considering and for volunteering your time :) RC

RE: Emily Burns Hignite
You're welcome! I'm new to this site but it's been fun getting acclimated. I wanted to visit that particular cemetery anyway, since I have some family there, and when it looked like hardly any of it had been photographed I thought I'd take as many pictures as I could.

Teresa - I will be happy to delete mine, I didn't know he already had a memorial, I always check 1st. Or I will transfer, which ever you would like, just let me know and it will be done. My only reason for entering these memorials is for people like you who are searching. Have a great day :)

The listing for Jacob in the Houston Co. cemetery book is noted as Oct. 10, 1787--Oct. 1868. So she would have taken that information from the top part of the marker. She did the survey in 1976. At that time the gravesite was located on Fesmire's Farm.

The piece of iron on the base of the white marker is probably a part of one of the two iron corners. I didn't look that hard to see if they were broken. They didn't appear to be. If you notice the two iron corner pieces are on a concrete base. There are no signs of two other iron uprights. Also, I didn't see any more writing on the the other three sides of the base. My guess is that the top part of the marker had the information about Jacob Pearce. The first copyright of the Houston Co. cemetery book by Addie Paramore was around 1982. I'm sure that the flat marker wasn't there at that time. So she would've taken the information from the part of the marker that is now missing. I will double check on that in the book to see what additional information she recorded.

You indicated on the memorial that you are the 4th great granddaughter.
Do you have the names of Jacob's parents?
Looks like his wife was Martha?

Thanks,

Huskey Photos
Can you help me out here? I am looking at duplicate memorials and trying to figure them out.

You took this photo of a grave marker and created a memorial for it in Huskey Grove Cemetery, Gatlinburg, Sevier County, TN:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=55305311

Someone else took a photo of the same grave marker and put it on a memorial in Huskey Cemetery, Rocky Grove, Sevier County, TN:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=30912778

I realize it was a while ago (2010!), but can you tell me which cemetery you photographed this?
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pv&GRid=55305311&PIpi=30995216

Thank you for providing any information that you can.
