My family lineage is through George Steel(e) who settled in Bedford County, PA. That lineage is George, Philip, George, George, Moses, Charles Edward and Paul Victor Steele. My family moved to Holmes Co, Ohio and Moses and many family members migrated to St. Joseph Co, Indiana where most of us have stayed in the general area. I have 3 grown children, 4 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren. |
I am fairly new to deep genealogy but have always wanted to know who my family was.
I am willing to take photos of local cemeteries if requested. I like to take photos of the area where the interment is to give the viewer a little better sense of the tranquility of the cemetery. I am a member of Friends of Silverbrook, the city owned cemetery here in Niles. We do restoration work on many of the headstones at the cemetery. Take some time to visit the website.

I see where you have Effie's maiden name spelled MacDonald.
In her daughter's (Doris Jones) obituary it has it spelled McDonnell. This can be found in the South Bend Tribune, 8/7/1996 page C-7. I leave the decision up to you only informing you of the difference. Have a good day! Carol

I love what you found on Cora Belle....it is posted now....it told me her children and who they married, so it added to my tree...thanks my friend

It's okay Janet; that sort of thing happens to everybody.
Are you familiar with the "edits" tab near the top of your "contributor tools" page? It's an easy way to approve/reject changes proposed by other users. I have no idea how long it's been available, but it just seems to have appeared out of nowhere, and sure is convenient. Lori

Would you please delete the photo of the cemetery section with the copy of the obituary (already added in the Bios section)? We already have tombstone pictures posted and the picture you posted does not show his tombstone.

Thanks so much for adding the headstone photos of William and Arlie Bowers to their findagrave memorials. It is truly appreciated. Mike Corray #48079886

Thank YOU so very much.

Thanks for being so speedy. I notice, however, that the picture on Margaret's memorial is 'Grace L'. Don't know who that is. Margaret's marker is in the same picture as Hugh's marker.
