Bio and Links
Bio Photo My husband, Franklin, and I are history nuts and love grave hopping. We are also Civil War buffs. We welcome any questions.

We will also help anyone with their genealogy searches in NC (Jordan, Hooks, Tetterton, Locke, Watson, Boone, Bost Klutts/Kluttz, Lentz, Lyerly, Redwine), NH, NY (Goodbread, Stock, Bruce, Frink, Milroy, Hickok, Schuler, Honeywell, Weatherwax), MA (Bruce, Dustin, Prentice, Barnes, Locke), ME(Shibles, Prentice) and NH (Shibles, Griffin, Prentice, Dustin, Priest). That is currently where we have ancestors.

If you feel you might be related, please contact us. We are trying to fill holes in our trees and would dearly love the assistance. Please feel free to copy any photos that we have placed. (please ask those who placed pictures for their permission.)

Thanks so much.

Debbie and Franklin Jordan

RE: Henry Frederick
Debbie, I am using Family Tree Maker V 16 for my data, have been for 10 years.

All the data that I have is on www.findagrave.com
I don't plan to pursue any further information on the Frederick family backwards, so I won't be much help to you, I am sure that there are many others on Find A Grave in NY that are more helpful. Sorry.

RE: Bost
Hi Debbie;
Regarding conversing on the Bost Family - would love to - I have been snowed in with so much and apologies for getting back to you so late. Please remind me again and we will figure a way to talk. My paternal great grandmother was Lucy Jane Bost who married Victor Chalmers "Vic" Ellis and yes, your husband would be related.
Keep me posted. :) "Steve" aka Glenn Ellis

RE: Henry Frederick
Debbie,
Yes, my maiden name was Frederick. Jacob, (son of George Frederick & Catherine Cag) and Mary VanScriber-Frederick are the parents of William Henry born 1834, but he went by Henry most of the time. Their children were born in Lasselville, NY. He seems to be the black sheep of the family, living in several places in NY and dying young. Two of his brothers died in NY and a sister, Catherine Elias are buried in Dempster Cemetery, Fulton Co., NY. His younger brothers, Peter, Jacob, Charles, etc and their parents moved to Dodge County, Minnesota and all are buried there. If you go to Find A Grave FREDERICK-MINNESOTA-DODGE COUNTY you will find all my entries there.

My data came from Wilma Frederick-Nobbs who did the research by writing letters to the various courthouses and history centers in NY back in the 1960's.

I have asked Find A Grave volunteers for a photo of this cemetery stone, if there is one, and then we could verify his birth/death dates. Do you happen to live in NY? Since I am in MN it is a bit harder. I am at the end of my research, but thought I would try to link Henry to his parents one last time.

RE: Our husbands' family connection
I sent an invitation to your email. The name is Steele, Jr. Maple Street Tree - Remodeling in Progress.

If you don't get to it, let me know. Occasionally people have had problems getting to my trees through the Ancestry system.

I'm planning to be at the library tomorrow if you have some other questions about Locke, Brandon, or other family names.

RE: Ann Brandon Locke
Hi Debbie. She is my husband's relative, too. We have been in contact over the last year if I remember correctly. I think I'm about to figure this out. If I'm getting this right, her mother married John Locke in Pennsylvania where they lived until he died. The mother then married John Richard Brandon who moved the family to Rowan County, NC.

Two Locke brothers--Col. Francis and Gen. Matthew Locke--married two of their step-sisters, Ann and Mary respectively. Give me some time and I will go to the library and figure this out from the info in the Locke genealogy book there. This is one of the trails I have not had time to look into recently and "connect the dots."

I've just purchased and started to add my info to a new computer and don't have it at my fingertips today. But I have, too, a bunch of Brandon genealogy for sharing. This might be easier by email. Mine is JoySteele46@gmail.com. Feel free to contact me. My old email was jhs55@carolina.rr.com which I think was the way we were in touch earlier.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Klotz / Kluttz / Klutz / Klutts / Clutz
Hello again im not trying to pester you but I have found another copy of memorials in the lowerstone cemetery it seems that Johann Leonard Klutz Sr. 8729704 your memorial is a copy of another memorial here Johann Leonard Klotz Sr. I aslo responded to the other poster about this it seems he has the last name correct but the middle name misspelled the original Name according to Ralph Dean in his book of the entire Kotz family (which I have a copy) and other sources indicates that the name should be Johann Leonhard Klotz Sr.
Its a on going task to have these corrected but as i progress toward capturing the entire klotz family on this site and Acenstery.com were the Klotz/Kluttz/Klutz/Klutts/Clutts/Clutz family tree is being built. What makes it confusing is the name Klotz changed spellings as the family miragrated to other states here in north carolina it changed 3 different spellings as to when each family changed it is hard to determine but im fairly close to putting it down as to were it did change. As to this memorial and others it makes it confussing because of the name spelling and we all are posting the correct people but making copys of them by the name spelling.
