Bio and Links
Bio Photo Both my parents were very interested in family history. They both shared family stories often, and family was most important. From their notes and stories, I started working on my family genealogy. I am hooked and have enjoyed "meeting" new people and "family" through my research. I only wish my parents were still with us to see all the history I have discovered.

My family research in on the White, Etheridge, Brown, Jordan, Tedder, Johnson, Jernigan, Clark, Wolfe, Turnipseed, and Oliver families.

Noel Johnson -
Hello! Noel and his family buried in the Johnson Cemetery in SC are part of my family. Noel is my 5th great uncle. If you would allow me to manage their memorials, I would be very grateful. It is important to me that they be in the hands of family, unless of course, you too are family!

James Howard Sanders
Hi - My name is Pam Arrington Webb and my husband, Monty, is linked to the Sanders through his grandmother, Tempest Arco Sanders Webb. She would be a sister to James Howard Sanders per my records. Parents to each of them being James Buckamon "Buck" Sanders and wife, Lou Purlina Wheeless Sanders (whose info is on Find A Grave already - along with another daughter, Bessie Mae Sanders Nelson - per my searches I have 15 children for this couple, James and Lou.) Tempest Arco information is on Find A Grave Memorial #15798785 - Gena Forsyth. It has one son listed for her but there are more and I have all that info and info on Sanders children and siblings if you are interested; I can be reached at if you are. I don't know how to add or post info on F.A.G. - sorry...

Elijah Cabaniss
I am totally confused on this one. There is two Find a Grave write up on him. Yours and one by Christine Wells-Leddon. Both of you Have his parents as George Cabaniss 1744 Va-1815 Ga. and Palatea Harrison 1758- 1870. You have him buried Nanafalia Baptist Cemetery in Marengo Co. Alabama. Christine has him buried in Bussey-Hearin Cemetery in Union County Ar. She has his birth as Aug. 28,1794 Death at Dec.2.1870. No siblings listed. I tend to believe yours is correct because of the siblings. One thing I do know he can't be buried in two different states.

RE: Elijah Pugh
Yes June, it is ok to use my comment. Sorry to be so long in replying but I had to take a sabbatical for awhile due to other events happening in my life. I'm back now!

Picture from Don Young regarding Meredith Noble Pugh
I have a copy of the same picture that Don Young uploaded of the Pugh family. That was my grandmother's family. Could you connect me to somebody in that line or give me hints so I can name the people?

Thanks for your help.

RE: Transfer of James Lawrence Reid
Thank you...had two more shutdowns due to the storms in Houston....need a new battery for surge protector. In the historic Houston Heights, got 8.5 inches of rain first round, (on tv Memorial/Allen Pkwy/Buffalo and White Oak Bayou.) So, about 16 inches of rain in May!

Mary Jane White
June, what do you know on Mary Jane White?

I have read the accounts in the book of The Wright Family which deals heavily with my great-great grandfather James' line.

It says James Berrygrove, Sr. had married Maneruh (really it is Minerva) Philips, had a son and left to war, in which he came back to find his wife dead and married Mary Jane in 1865.

Because of this, they believe James Jr. Is probably Minerva's son but I honestly was never convinced because of a few reasons..

I have found a J.B. Wright that married a Minerva and they had one son, born 1860 named John W. Wright. John is never found with James, and is not a family name which the Wright's were traditionalists and commonly passed down names.

On a census he said he married Mary Jane in 1858, versus where the book says 1865.. She supposedly married George Ethridge before this.

In the 1880 enumeration census for Kemper county however, Moscow district, the following children for them are listed.. Virginia (born 1860, before he left for the war), George and James, both 18 (born 1862), Willie 14 (i.e. William, born 1866 a year after James returned from the war), Lillie (born 1868), Anna 8 (born 1872), Joel 6 (born 1874), Harvey 4 (born 1876), Mary 2 (born 1878.) all given the surname Wright.

There were five unknown children she listed she had; Virginia, George, Mary, Lillie, and Anna account for those five.

I notice you said you research the Ethridge line, have you run across any further evidence to support she married George previously and this isn't another Mary Jane?

Re:Sarah Cornelia "Nelia" Frazier Joyner
June, thanks for the reply. After looking a little further into it, having found a duplicate listing which lists her as Sarah C. Joyner Wright and even going to the cemetery real quick (it is maybe a mile and a half from my house) I am pretty confident she is the one who married James.

They are only found in the Kemper 1940 census together, two years before her death. I've not found a marriage record yet.

Sarah Cornelia "Nelia" Frazier Joyner
Hello! I noticed you managed this page, I was wondering.. Do you happen to know if this Neilie/Nelia married James Berrygrove Wright, Jr.? I ask just because a my family tree has three wives for him listed, Mary Cornelia Smith, "Maggie" (probably a Margaret, supposedly buried in Neshoba.) and a "Nelie Joiner."

Neither Maggie nor Neilie's birth or death date is listed, but Neilie would have died during the 1940's prior to James and she was born by census 1872.. When I added in the birth information this Nelia showed up.
