I'm a native of Longmont, CO. I'm been interested in genealogy for almost 50 years but I did take time off to raise a family. Research is much easier now then it was 30 years ago. The Denver Library and Federal Archives are not far away and that has been a help.
When I started taking photos my husband didn't come but after a visit to a cemetery that was on a one lane road on the side of a mountain he was hooked. The markers were very old and very interesting, so now he willing walks around a cemetery with me as we locate the markers that were requested. He trims the grass and pulls the weeds around the markers to be sure I get a good photo. We also stop and visit relatives and friends and look at interesting markers. The two remarks on markers I have really liked are "This is the only stone she left unturned." and "I told you I was sick."
You have my permission to use headstone photos that I have posted for your genealogy record.
RE: Nora Rash Thanks for all your efforts looking into Nora Rash's burial site, obituary, and all else; well above and beyond the call of duty. I've never had someone photograph the plot before but that sounds wonderful and I'm sure it will add to the memorial.
RE: Adam Walter BJ Thanks for the message. I did not catch this. You are right Adam's last name is Walters. That is the way that it is in the obituary. Both of his parents however spell their last name as Walter. I double checked their obituaries and they have no s on the end of Walter. I will have to look at the rest of the children and double check. Thanks for pointing this out. Paula Day
Headstone photos BJ Thank you so much for all of the help that you have given me. You have lived in Longmont for quite a while. I am amazed that you know so many of the people that I have been researching. For a lot of them the information that I have about them is what I can find in the newspaper and the Longmont Daily Times Call is wonderful for information. I am also looking for information on Charles Leinweber b 1922 d 1999. His obituary shows that he was buried in the Mountain View Cemetery and I can find a memorial for him #5553887 but there is not a headstone photo for him. Is this the Charles Leinweber that you are referring to? Thanks again for all that you do. Paula Day
