Bio Photo Frederick (Fred) George Beisser is the oldest child of the late Frederick T. Beisser of Plymouth, Wisconsin and the late Edith Hulda Hoffmann of Town of Lima, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.

Fred graduated from Sheboygan Falls Public High School, was employed in his home town by Curt G. Joa, Inc. for two years and in 1963 enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his country for 25 years in various accounting, budgeting and financial management positions in Turkey, Germany, Japan and in the United States. He retired from the Air Force with rank of Major in January 1989. During his military career he was awarded the Meritorius Service Medal (five times) and the Air Force Commendation Medal as well as Expert Marksmanship Medal for both rifle and pistol. While with the Air Force he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with the University of Southern Colorado in Pueblo, Colorado and a Master of Business Administration from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

In 1967 while serving with the Air Force in Ankara, the capitol of Turkey, Fred met the late Mechtild Susanne Elisabeth Wienhues of Gelsenkirchen, Germany, who was visiting mutual friends, Johannes and Eva Huber, in their apartment on the grounds of the German Embassy. Subsequently, after Fred's arrival in Wiesbaden, Germany, on a following assignment, he and Susanne were married in 1968. They became the parents of two children, Alice Margrit and Frederick Johan Beisser. Their assignments together included Colorado Springs, Colorado; McClellan AFB, Sacramento, California; Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan; Travis AFB, Vacaville, Calif.; Incirlik Air Base, Adana, Turkey; and Hahn Air Base, Germany. In 1983 M. Susanne E. Beisser died in Blankenrath, Germany in a fatal traffic accident. Eventually, Fred and the children returned to the USA, coming to Lowry AFB, Denver, Colorado for a final assignment at the Air Force Accounting & Finance Center. In January of 1989 Fred retired from the Air Force.

In 1990 Fred was appointed Chief Financial Officer of DCX, Inc., Franktown, Colorado, and later promoted to Vice President--Finance & Administration. Subsequently in 2002 he was appointed Senior Vice President --Finance with PlanGraphics, Inc. of Frankfort, Kentucky, a position he held until his "retirement" in November 2009. He was assigned to its administrative office in Parker, Colorado where also he makes his home. In November 2006 he became a member of the board of trustees for the Elbert County Library District. In March 2009 he was appointed to the board of directors of the East Central Council of Governments in Colorado and in October 2009 he was elected to the board of directors of the German American Chamber of Commerce - Colorado Chapter and subsequently named vice president.

Fred also holds a PhD from American International University of Canoga Park, California, and was a Colorado certified public accountant for many years. He is fluent in English and German and also speaks Turkish.

In addition to hobbies such as running, Western Americana, elk hunting and Texas Longhorn cattle, Fred has a strong interest in genealogy and is actively researching the following families that appear in his family tree:

Beisser originally from Calw, Wuerttemberg, Germany.

Hoffmann originally from Altenglan, RheinPfalz, Germany.

Heyer/Haier originally from Kirchheim/Teck, Wuerttemberg, Germany.

Schwalbe originally from Menkin, Brandenburg, Preussen, Germany.

Allmann/Allman originally from Sien, Rhein-Pfalz, Germany.

Thank you for your reply. I would suggest to change the country to germany without a city.

Günter Grass memorial
Fred, you got the birthplace correct. But at the time Grass was born it was a country of Germany before WWII. Your input makes him polish, born in Poland and that is not true.

Kind regards
Klaus

Was he not accepted for Famous? I found his funeral notice and wanted to include it, but if he is still under consideration for Famous, then that wouldn't be appropriate.

He was a friend of my parents (Frank and Rosalie Figge)

RE: Martial Brigouleix
Hello, Fred! Well, this is most certainly one of those quite common mistakes that can be found on the internet, and we'll probably never know the full truth! :-( Whatever, have a great day.Best, Michel

Martial Brigouleix
Hello, I've just added the two pictures I took yesterday of a Frenc, WWII resistant called Brigouleix (memorial # 10347283); but as you can see on the cross on his grave, his first name is Marcel, not Martial... Can you please fix that mistake? Thanks, and best, Michel

Curt Gowdy, sportscaster
How is it possible that Curt Gowdy is NOT listed as a "famous" burial at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA?? This is an outrage. Find a Grave can lose much credibilty with errors like this.

Tilman W Redmond
Hi Fred,
Just wondering if it would be possible for you to take a picture of the actual tombstone of my great-grandfather Tilman W. Redmond buried in Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Bladensburg, MD. The picture that is on the Find a Grave is of the Gate or the entrance to the Cemetery. The Find a Grave Memorial Number is 128686007.

Thank you so much.
Margaret
