Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on my family tree off and on since I was 12 years old (so over 42 years). I feel it is often like a treasure hunt. I enjoy researching for others and enjoy seeing how much information I am able to gather for them.

My love for genealogy came from my father, Rev. Geo. K. Swartzfager. He was a minister and was able to learn and remember family members of most of his parishioners. I seem to have this same ability often to the annoyance of my own family. They often seem to feel this is a curse but I feel it is a blessing that I have gladly inherited.

As I said, I am willing to do research for others. I have several books to assist in this research: Cemeteries of Crawford County, Ohio, Volumes 1, 2A and 3; Marriages of Crawford County, Ohio 1831-1997; History of Crawford County, Ohio; Index of Applications of The Pioneer Families of Crawford County, Ohio; and Families of Crawford County, Ohio 1977-1978.

Please do not make duplicates of people I have added to Find A Grave. I am willing to make transfers whenever the person is not related to my family. I will try to respond/transfer as soon as possible. I enjoy working on Find A Grave and visit cemeteries to take pictures as often as possible. While in a cemetery in Pennsylvania, I met a cousin (living of course). You never know what you may find. A friend says she can't go by a cemetery without thinking of me. My daughter just thinks its creepy. Hopefully someday my children will inherit some of my genealogy insanity.

Hello! I helped clean out my parent's home this weekend, and by the front door was Barbara Thatcher's (1845-1906) headstone. It's been there for years, but the realtor didn't think, as lovely as it was, it would be a selling point! I waived off suggestions to chuck it in the dumpster, and have transferred it to my home. Mom said that something (vandalism?) happened years ago and a new stone was commissioned. Then the original stone surfaced, so the new stone went to Mom. I was wondering if this is true, or does Barbara (my gg grandmother) need this stone?

RE: Scotts
I may be a shirtail relation? I have been using and have found many family members that were lost in our tree. Sometimes I go on to a wife or husband by marriage and just continue finding the information. Are you aware of this site? It is a free site by the Latter Day Saints Church. You sometimes can get from this site, marriage, census and death certificates.

Crary N Green (Ezra) #39030703
Crary Green (mistranscribed as Ezra), who died in the Civil War, is the son of my gggrandfather Daniel Nathan Green. Desire B. Green, Crary's mother, was his first wife and is buried next to Crary. If he isn't in your family, I would be so appreciative if you would transfer his page to me. Best regards, Elaine Mercer

Marilyn Ward
I submitted an edit to add the parents of Marilyn "June" Ward, but I believe this is the wrong person. This entry is not for child of William and Francis Ward. I'm so sorry for the confusion. Thanks! -- Colyn

Ura Marie Tharp Young

Ura Young was my grandmother. I saw that you have a lot of information for Crawford County, Ohio. My grandmother lived there. I am trying to find relatives for my grandmother but have come to a dead-end. Her mother was Darity Alice Jones Tharp, married to Earnest Ray Tharp. Darity's mother was Alice Jones, married to James F. Jones. I am trying to search for Alice Jones' ancestors. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
